Oh, dear...I think I got rid of a glass umbrella dish not too long ago.  What was I thinking!  Huh

I love that duck - so clever and cute!

And the cat is quite wonderful also.  Smiley

I love that kitty, too.  It looks very Breakfast at Tiffany's, sitting on its fancy cushion, doesn't it?

Received my underwater world pincushion from quaggy this weekend - in addition to the greatest pincushion ever, there were even a few extras tucked in the handy storage area down inside the base...

A seam ripper (yayy! for not having to always go to another room when I need one), a bag of buttons and a handy thread cutter so I won't have to carry scissors with me on the plane!

Thanks again, quaggy!

Over the weekend I received simply the most outstanding felt pincushion ever from quaggy!  She said she found the base at the Goodwill store - it's hard to see how anyone could have parted with it, really.  And then when you see what she did with it, well, just prepare yourself to be astounded by the amazing underwater world of Nemo...

the bottom half, showing the ceramic base with crab and calla lilies, with a close-up of the beaded sea anemone, sea scallop with pearl, and polymer clownfish pin...

and the top half with sequined seahorse clinging to the seaweed by its tail...

My 20-year-old son (more of a computer geek than a craft geek  Wink ) was here when I unwrapped the package and his jaw dropped.  He just kept walking around it, looking at it from every angle and saying "wow" - my sentiments exactly!

Thanks so much, quaggy, it's just beautiful!

Mine is done - mostly.  Roll Eyes  Might add a little something.  And I thought of a couple of extras to add in.  Thought I should probably let things percolate a bit before rushing off to the post office.

Thanks!  The beads were a random assortment of odds & ends that my friend gave me for my first project - a great mix, aren't they?

I went to my goodwill looking for something and I may have hit pay dirt.  I found a cute ______ that I think will work well for a themed type pincushion.

That's perfect!  You've heard "One good turn deserves another" - in our case, it's "one goodwill deserves another" !! Roll Eyes

This is very funny!  For about a year I've been buying neat little containers at the thrift stores with the idea that I would turn them into pincushions.  I really liked one thing that I saw but it was a little more expensive than I could justify with no particular reason in my mind.  Then three weeks ago I was at the store again and they still had it (cheaper now!) so I splurged and bought it - though still with no particular reason in my mind.  Then, as I was watching this list and thinking more and more about pincushions, I saw that quaggy had joined and I thought to myself, "Oh, that would make a perfect pincushion for her! But what are the odds that we'll be partnered?"  And guess what?  The odds were great, because we are, and now quaggy will get her pincushion!   Grin
