51  Re: Dotees - Mini Art Dolls - Round 11 (send out 11/04) Gallery in The Swap Gallery by muddy21 on: November 04, 2010 11:05:37 AM
Sent out to Group 3 today and, like clovergrace, I arrived home to find my first ever Dotee had been delivered in my absence!  Woot, woot!

Thank you, PirateColey - I love the face, the hair, the green velvet body with studs = and the beautiful ceramic pendant.

52  Re: Ongoing ATC Swap October 2010 in The Swap Gallery by muddy21 on: October 26, 2010 07:06:51 PM
Received a few days ago, an ATC from WideEyedLife on "doorways" - in this case, doorways to the imagination.  Little did she know that wooden blocks hold a special place in my heart, as one of my very earliest memories!  Cheesy

and it continues on the back...

Thank you, thank you, WideEyedLife!

I'm posting for preg_replace('/(.{19})/', '$1 ', 'SecretAgentStarchild') but just found that my memory card has gone AWOL. I'm very sad because it was nearly full (which was why I'd taken it out of the camera).  I had also made a copy of the ATC, so this is a photo of the copy.  The ATC itself is not quite so fuzzy.

The theme was "Alien" and the photo is of the river and mill building in downtown Exeter, NH.  There was a famous alien abduction incident known as "The Incident at Exeter," so it seemed appropriate.  Except that the Incident at Exeter actually took place in the neighboring small town of Kensington!  Go figure...

My most abject apologies to calluna, who sent me a wonderful "World Travel" ATC, which I received a while ago and have only just now finally stopped moving long enough to upload here for all of you to be suitably astounded and amazed at my good fortune.  Embarrassed
Thank you so much, calluna!  The delay was certainly not because I didn't appreciate the card - it was just that life kept getting in the way of my plans.  The card is lovely, as are the sentiments of the verse.  And the little glittery embossed clock faces give just a hint of steampunk.  It's perfect!

Received a "Cityscape" ATC from sabrinalouisemiller today!  It's just right  Cheesy  My older son is just starting the college search process.  He has no idea what he wants to study, but the one thing he's quite certain of is that he wants to be someplace other than rural New Hampshire.  I love the way this card has the big city in the background with the small-town scale in the foreground - where he's been vs. where he wants to be.  I'll frame this one for him for Christmas.  Thanks so much  Kiss

Oh, my! Oh, my!  Pugwash could hardly have chosen any better for the design she made me...I am so, so pleased   Roll Eyes

She took inspiration from a set of notecards on my wist and then went way above and beyond to make my beautiful hoop...

The subject, the style, the colors, the background, the hoop - none of it could be more perfect than it is!  You can see how well it goes on the pine paneling of my kitchen wall  Cheesy

Here's another shot, this one closer up to show the beautiful colors and stitching -

She said this design was her third choice...I can't help but wonder what the others were!??  Maybe we can be partners again so I can find out  Wink

PS Even the back is elegant...

Here's my photo - but I think mine's a bit more red than it really is.  The blue tint you're getting might be from the plastic sleeve.

Not only is Oyhana a super organizer, she's also a super swapper!

These are the *three* cards I received from her for the 1 claim she made.  They were on a combined theme of photography/doorways.  The doorways were ones she photographed in her home town - 2 churches and 1 Masonic Lodge.  Thank you, Oyhana, they're terrific!

and also this...
.

This whole month has been great fun and the gallery is spectacular  Cheesy
