1  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions / HELP! Making baby blanket with chenille on: September 30, 2013 08:06:35 PM
I bought some light blue chenille today from fabricland (50% off!) and am planning to turn it into a baby blanket. I am doing an 'under the sea' theme with light/dark blues, turquoise, and [pumpkin] orange as my main colors. The crib linens were originally all going to be different geometric patterns with these colors, however since I wasn't able to find chenille for the blanket that I liked I want to do applique.

I will be designing sea creatures similar to the ones I've already designed for the mobile and I'd like to attach them to the blanket to create a scene. I'm having difficulty looking up anything that combines the words applique and chenille as all results come up as that technique which ends up looking like caterpillars...

So has anyone done this before? Is chenille harder to applique and if so any tips? Also where can I get smaller pieces of chenille in the colors I want? I don't imagine the fabricland ladies would cut me 1/2 or 1/4 of a meter....

Any help/resources would be greatly appreciated!!!!!
2  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Pottery, Ceramics, etc: Discussion and Questions / Painting Fired Porcelain/Ceramic on: April 10, 2010 08:04:20 PM
I have a miniature porcelain tea set that I am using for my larger Barbie house project.. They are from the dollar store and have a hideous rose or something on them.

Does anyone know how to refurbish them or even if it's possible?
