I took a ceramics class last semester for college credit and loved it so much that I returned as an advanced student.  Here are a couple of my  pieces that came out of the kiln last week.
The first one is a bowl that will eventually be apart of a set.  The theme of the dishes is Edgar Allan Poe.  I used a couple lines from the poem The Raven.


And the other is a tile piece.  It is a form of Kali, the goddess of destruction, in a rare form.  I found the image and used under-glazes to create the image.  I think that most of you will enjoy the image...



I know that I am going to use the top two holes to hang it with ribbon but I am unsure of whether I want to crochet something and attach it or what...hmm...any ideas?

Last semester I did an Alice in Wonderland Tea set...will post pictures as soon as I get them...

I apologize for how long it has taken me to post.  I would have sooner but I unexpectedly was in the hospital for a week.  But I really enjoyed my first swap and look forward to doing it again.

So I was sitting totally bored last week and when i get bored I decided to craft and sometimes I get crazy ideas like hey I think i am going to crochet a punk bikini!  Surprisingly the top fit...the bottoms however didn't...they were a bit small so they have to added onto...lol.  I didn't use a pattern, i just grabbed my girlfriend's bikini and occasionally checking mine to her already made one I started for sizing...I crocheted away...  She thought the top looked great on me...so that was a plus..

Who doesn't love a tote/purse...lol.  I am a student and sometimes I had carrying several bags, so I made the first one for the purpose of carrying the stuff in my purse as well as my notebooks, or crochet materials sometimes...





I was thinking about embroidering an owl on this one before I try to sell it...for some reason this bag makes me think of the owl from the tootsie pop commercials...any thoughts on that?

Here are three quilts that I have made since the beginning of the year.  The first one I made totally for me, while the second and third i made just for fun.



This is a queen sized quilt and I like to call it Victorian garden.  I ended up making matching pillowcases and even curtains out of the plaid material in the quilt.  The back is just a queen sized brown flat sheet.  The last few quilts I have made I have just used flat sheets for the back.  I usually buy them in a set and then it sort of leaves out a step in the bed making process...lol



This quilt is a full sized quilt and yes those squares are corduroy, brown, pink and turquoise!  For this one I used another brown flat sheet.  It is a thick and heavy quilt-definitely keeps one warm in the winter.






 

This quilt is full size as well but is very light.  It is very punk and pinwheels I think are fun.  It has a black flat sheet for backing and just a sheet in between.  It works out wonderfully in the summer when the air conditioner just isn't working but you need a blanket to sleep with...lol

I made this quilt for my partner's daughter.  It is twin sized.  She loves cats and her favorite color is green, so it all worked out great.  Some of the little squares have little fish bones and the word meow on it.

Child sized- started to make it to match the scarf below but ended up making it too small but it'll make some child happy I am sure...

The scarf is super long... I noticed last year that long scarves seem to be in or maybe it was just on campus...now that I think about it, mainly professors..lol

My model is wearing my first earflappy hat.  I have never used a pattern and so I had to play with this for a bit...

A laptop sleeve!  It works lovely for a 15 inch laptop.  I used three different colors of yarn- pink, tan and mixture of purple like colors.

So  made this skirt out of a pair of size 7 jeans that were beginning to get holes in areas jeans should not have holes...lol.  I used left over material from a quilt.
