1  Re: she's legal, she's got a tongue ring, and now she has a new purse! in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by *bella donna* on: April 10, 2005 03:29:56 PM
could you tell me how you did the cargo style pockets?

sure! this is my first try at a tutorial and it took me for-freaking-ever to whip up this baby but I love you girls - and guys - so heres you go!

I hope this makes sense. feel free to PM me if you have any questions. I'm really friendly I swear! And be honest if you don't get it, so I can fix it for the next person you know.

hey guys! just thought I'd post the purse I made for my little friend whitney! She just turned 18. anyways - it's just an improvement on the pattern of another purse I've made. It's really chunky, because that's how she likes her purses. I got the ribbon idea from the ribbon dress that was on here a while back.

I HEART craftster! inspiration abound.

OK - here it is!

I love the lining on this thing! I didn't want to give it away!
thanks for looking!

3  every girls dream bag in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by *bella donna* on: March 13, 2005 03:07:32 PM
Hey guys! I'm so excited because this is the first purse I've ever made from I pattern I thought up myself! Yeah! I had a friend in mind the whole process and was just thinking about all the things I need in a bag. I can never find my pens so viola! a pen pocket on the outside! I always want to bring a lunch to school but I feel stupid carrying it around. my cell phone likes to hide from me, especially when people are calling. and whenever I have books for class on top of my binder they always slide off. Necessity is the mother of invention.

it isn't perfect. one of the flap pockets is whacked out. so's the piping because I made it myself. the lining is a little too big and the pockets are a little crooked. Plus I broke like three needles on it, but I have to say, i like it!
oh, and I should have taken a picture of the magnetic snaps on the flaps! Holy mother those things are expensive! I had no idea!

4  Re: ooh...baby I love your waves! in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by *bella donna* on: March 03, 2005 09:36:10 PM
nah! unfortunately...I'm not that good. I bought it *shudder* at some surf shop a while back. I love it. hopefully you guys can see this pic.

I think it's billabong. Oh yeah! There it is on the tag. Anyway, thought you might want to see it magnolia.
oh and just so you ladies know, I made a matching wallet but I'm not quite as proud of it and kinda embarrassed to show it. But if there's enough popular demand I might just have to grin and bear it.
Thanks again for all the compliments. You guys are the absolute best!
I heart crafster!

5  ooh...baby I love your waves! in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by *bella donna* on: February 28, 2005 03:45:15 PM
HI guys - this is my latest creation. It's basically a bigger jordy. I was inspired by this collage I did a couple of months ago. I'd been doing doodles of it on the corners of my papers for a week or so, and instead of doing my english paper I opted to bask in procrastination and make it. My sewing machine threw a fit with the interfacing, but she got over it.

let me know what you think!

6  roman goddess dress needed in Costumes: Discussion and Questions by *bella donna* on: February 24, 2005 11:12:14 PM
ok girls...(and a couple of guys too) I know this is a little weird since it's not even March yet, but I have this costume party I'm going to in about a month and I really want to be a roman goddess. I saw Angelina Jolie in Alexander and then I watched Troy - and the cltohes are just gorgeus! and since I'm crafty (and broke) I don't want to dish out fifty bucks for a mass reproduced one. Plus making your own is so much more fun. I found this dress which I really love (except for the hole tummy showing thing, I'll probably close up that whole - I'm really more of a leg girl)...

...but now I have no idea how to make it. Any suggestions?

or if you guys have links to other patterns that would work for this project, or just anything that you think might help that would be great. Thanks so much

7  palm trees and italian flags! in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by *bella donna* on: February 19, 2005 10:40:04 AM
hey guys. I made these bags about a bagillion years ago - but I thought I'd show them too you.

its all done by hand. Let me tell ya - sequins take a long freakin' time. But I love the effect. And the palm tree pattern was taken from some ancient embroidery patterns that my mom kept around for me.
thanks for looking!

9  boyfriend's "wrenchhead" jacket in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by *bella donna* on: February 03, 2005 08:50:17 PM
Um...I'm nervous. I hope this works, this is my first picture post.
I made this jacket for my boyfriend's birthday. He designed the image himself that cute little artisty boy. I just put it on the back of a gray dickies jacket. He's obsessed with it, he wears it everywhere. Its one of the first things I've ever done on my brand new sewing machine. I hope you guys like. comments are more than welcome - but I'm a newbie so go easy on me k? (ugh - I have to cut off that thread!)
