1  Re: International Snack Swap Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by JenniePsycho on: August 08, 2010 05:56:36 PM

Mine is taking its time getting to JenniePsycho in Australia. D:

I wish you could get DC #s on International.

I've received!!!! Finally!! Actually, I got mine last week but had a few days in hospital so been unable to post (all good though)
After phoning & asking repeatedly at the post office they finally managed to pull their heads out of their arses and find the parcel, which had been sitting there for 2 weeks!

Thanks Tadiera Smiley  My favourite was the bottle caps... YUMMY

2  Orange Floral "Monstrosity" needs some love! in Clothing for Curvaceous Craftsters: Completed Projects by JenniePsycho on: May 21, 2010 10:38:01 PM
Golden rule reinforced while making this dress: do NOT sew while tired!! What a week of disasters!

Cut out the pattern (New Look 6723)  - good
Sew front/back to side pieces - bad
Unpick and re-sew - good
Cut lining - wrong (waste of lots of fabric)
Sew lining front/back to side pieces - bad
Unpick and re-sew - good
Sew lining to outside fabric - bad
Unpick and re-sew - good
Sew skirt to bodice - good
Try dress on dressform - good
Notice skirt is see-through - bad
Buy more fabric for lining - bad
Unpick skirt, attach lining - good
Re-attach skirt to bodice - good
Sew zip - wonky but good
sew hem - good
Try dress - Finally PERFECT!!!

I would love to hear everyones comments, I showed a few friends and the response was less than complimentary. I love it though, it feels so summery. So middle fingers up to my friends - I'm wearing it anyway!!

3  Skeleton Dress! Now with posing shots!! in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by JenniePsycho on: May 07, 2010 03:11:41 AM
I made this dress from some awesome skeleton material my sister bought for me.
The pattern is New Look 6723
I just love it & might have to wear it tomorrow!  The zip is a bit wonky and my hand sewing of the lining is terrible (I strongly detest hand sewing) but hopefully no-one will be looking close enough to notice!

close up of the wonderful material Smiley

C & C welcome, thanks for looking

4  First Post, or Whatever possessed me to make this dress!! in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by JenniePsycho on: April 15, 2010 02:17:36 AM
I have been lurking on Craftster for months now and thought it was about time I got off my arse and posted Smiley

My sister was getting married and asked me to be one of her bridesmaids, being that I live in outback Australia (and am a funny shape) I had a moment of insanity and decided it would be easier to make my own dress.

I found a pattern (Butterick B4919), had my sister choose and post the material from Melbourne, bought an old bedsheet to use for practise....
and didn't start a thing for 6 months!! oops

8 weeks before the wedding I made a start, and with a few little hiccups & frustrations (like finding I'd bought the wrong size pattern) and having terrible handsewing skills, lots of late nights,I finished the dress!

No in-progress photos..

Finished!

On the big day!

C & C more than welcome... thanks for looking Smiley
