1  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / An awesome way to create an arch on: July 10, 2009 07:17:07 AM
My good friend is getting married under a tree in October (in LaCrosse, WI = beautiful, but cold, cold, cold.).  I found this great idea for an arch and we're both in love with it.
It doesn't seem too difficult to create if you buy enough fabric, but I'm not sure what kind to buy.  Do you think this is tulle?  Or do you have any other ideas about what would work well?
2  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / I need help choosing different types of tea for a gift basket. on: December 02, 2008 09:31:24 AM
I would like to give a couple of my girlfriends gift baskets with tea in them for Christmas, but I don't know anything about tea (if I'm posting in the wrong place, feel free to move this).  What are good types of tea for things like energizing, relaxing, detoxing, warding off illness, or any other cool effects that I don't know about.  Hopefully that makes sense.  Any help is greatly appreciated!  Smiley
3  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / A Slutty Oven Mit?? on: August 15, 2008 09:19:49 AM
Ok..maybe not slutty, but I've been wracking my brain and can't think of any possible way to make an oven mit costume the least bit sexy.

I have a lot of ideas for coupley Halloween costumes, but my latest and greatest is my boy going as Subway's Jerad (Easy AND cheap to make) and Me going as Arby's Oven Mit guy.  As much as I dislike the whole sexifying of Halloween costumes thing, I've gone out in frumpy costumes and feel like an idiot next to the scantily clad nurses and schoolgirls.  The only way I can think to make an oven mit costume is just making a big sack and wearing it over my head...not very flattering.

Any ideas?

A very nicely done, but very unsexy, oven mit:
EDIT: I guess I didn't make it clear that I DID NOT make this costume.  It just showed up when I google image searched "oven mit costume" or something.  I would feel horrible taking credit for this, because it is really awesome.

4  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / My boyfriend is studying abroad. on: July 13, 2005 08:40:48 PM
My boyfriend is studying in Ireland fall semester and I want to make something for him.  I want it to make him think of me, but it would also be cool if it was something he could really use.  I don't know if anything like that exists.  I could always be uncreative and decorate a picture frame or make a scrapbook or something, but I want to be a little more original than that.  Any suggestions?
