1  Christmas At Hawk Run Hollow in Needlework: Discussion and Questions by Archangeldecker on: January 30, 2014 01:17:18 PM
Picked this back up after fizzling out on stitching all of the snow in Block Two. FINALLY finished that up yesterday, so I'm back to stitching on a HAED again (http://heavenandearthdesigns.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=604_85&products_id=2675).

This is my Christmas at Hawk Run Hollow piece, Blocks One through Three. Here are the deets:

Design: Christmas at Hawk Run Hollow

Designer: Carriage House Samplings

Fabric: 40 count Picture This Plus Newcastle linen in Legacy

Fibers Used: Needlepoint, Inc. silk flosses in 123, 124, 127, 128, 155A, 158, 159, 184A, 186, 204, 206, 241, 242, 244, 251, 293, 303, 313, 316, 331, 345, 401, 422, 473, 475, 512, 523, 524A, 526, 527, 548, 556, 587, 623, 636, 671, 692, 693, 694, 695, 722, 724, 725, 765, 767, 856, 867, 871, 902, 912, 928, 951, 957, 963, 972, 976, 982, 987, 991BB, and 993. The Thread Gatherer's Silk n' Colors #035 Mint Frost.

Stitcher's Notes: Stitched a tiny 'W' for the gate. I let DH choose which house would be 'ours' in this piece and he really liked the house in block two over the one in block four. Letter taken from the book
ABC Miniatures au point de croix by Franoise Prax for Marabout.

And here is a picture of Blocks One through Three shown together:

4  Latest Work In Progress in Needlework: Discussion and Questions by Archangeldecker on: September 28, 2010 12:52:51 PM
Here is a picture of my latest cross stitch piece. Progress has slowed down a lot due to my starting a new job in massage therapy within the last month and I'm generally too sore and tired when I come home at night to stitch.  Undecided

At any rate, here's the picture and my mats list: Smiley

5  Re: Designing your own sampler. in Needlework: Discussion and Questions by Archangeldecker on: July 19, 2010 11:27:44 AM
I am going to assume you mean a cross stitch sampler. My apologies if you meant another type of embroidery! Smiley

Here are some links that I have found:

http://www.articlesbase.com/art-and-entertainment-articles/how-to-create-your-very-own-crossstitch-sampler-101504.html

http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/198203/how_to_design_your_own_cross_stitch.html

If I can remember the name of some of the books that deal with this topic, I will post links and/or information concerning them later on. Smiley

I have also designed my own design and I am working currently on three more. I use the old graph paper and pencil mode, as right now I cannot afford to purchase software to do this for me. I then send my designs to a friend and she puts it all together for me.

7  XS Finish in Needlework: Completed Projects by Archangeldecker on: April 27, 2010 09:55:14 PM
Here is my latest cross stitch finish. The pattern is by SanMan Originals and it is a Member Only pattern. It was a SAL for the members of the board and I had such a good time picking things out. I didn't follow the suggested threads, but instead opened up my bins of stash and chose the fibers and things I would use on the fly. Smiley

Here is the completed finish:

8  Latest Card Finish in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by Archangeldecker on: April 27, 2010 09:49:07 PM

This is my third or fourth card I ever made. I have absolutely no clue what I am doing when i do these things. I just put stuff where I think it doesn't look too lame and tack it down!  Cheesy

9  My Latest Finish in Needlework: Completed Projects by Archangeldecker on: April 12, 2010 10:14:34 AM
Had a one day start and finish yesterday. It's a 5 part SAL for Members Only at the http://www.sanmanoriginals.com/ boards. (If you'd like to become a member, please sign up here: http://www.sanmanoriginals.com/forum/profile.php?mode=register&sid=dc6203cece37324ac6c905109d14ec2f).

And since I cannot leave well enough alone at times, I completely changed the fibers and fabric that were suggested in the original patterns.  Shocked

Here are my stitchy notes:

Design: Four Seasons Fatties SAL

Designer: Sandra Dering of SanMan Originals

Fabric: 28 count white evenweave (possibly Lugana)

Fibers: DMC numbers 51, 111, 115, 310, and 317. Anchor numbers 295 and 801. Kreinik Very Fine Braid #4 in 150V.

Accouterments: Mill Hill beads in in #00556.

Here is a pic of the Spring, Summer, and Autumn Blocks completed, plus the border:

10  Re: Big Project stitch-along 2010 in Needlework: Stitchalongs by Archangeldecker on: April 06, 2010 10:51:33 AM
This is the BAP that I have planned for this year. It's from the UK Cross Stitcher magazine. Issue 187 (June 2007). Seafarer's Globe design by Maria Diaz. It will eventually hang in DH's office.

And my supplies. DMC threads and 28 count linen by Picture This Plus fabrics in Legacy. It was 30 bucks just for the fabby! =:O :

I really should get started on this soon, as his birthday is in September!  Shocked
