I love this idea! Last year we had a water play b-day party when my daughter turned 3 (in August) and we used buckets for the party bags. This year - I suspect we'll be doing princess themes and bags would be lovely! Great idea and such cute bags!
AND my package is all put together ready to go! It is slightly bigger than will fit in the envelope so I'm sending it in a different envelope. It could have fit - but I would have really had to scrunch all that fabric down and that didn't seem nice at all. I'm super excited! About halfway through collecting the scraps I realized that I ought to be getting my color piles going as well! So I did. Now I'm almost ready for my bottled rainbows quilt too. (Just as soon as I wrap up a few WIPs and clean out my sewing space!)
You can do the bottled rainbows either way. A "traditional" ticker tape quilt is a quilt sandwich that you sew the pieces onto. The bottled rainbows quilt is done that way but with ticker tape blocks. The sashing made of solid colors will be sewn together and the backing (which sticks out a bit from the batting) will be hand sewn (or machine if you like) together at the end.
