Stella McCartney lace dress in black not white

http://blogyul.miqrogroove.com/2010/01/mcsexy/

Set your browser to 200% magnification

Dress -
* Two pieces  - bodice and skirt

* Waistline seam slightly above natural waist

* Front -
> deep scoop neck with 1/2 diamond lace edging
> May be waist darting?

* Back -
> straight without darts
> high, wavy? neckline with 1/2 diamond lace edging

* No entry in front: no zipper in back: Too form-fitting to pull over head
Ergo - zip in side seam, under one arm

* Straight cut skirt,  slightly softly gathered

* Looks lined with flesh coloured lining
Can't see if bodice is lined

From you loose description, would she be an "apple" body shape?

5  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Discussion and Questions / Re: Waistbands for string beans on: May 24, 2008 03:24:51 AM
Ah .. memories .. my three DD are tall-very tall, even as children ..

Buy to fit the waist especially jeans, trousers, and pants with a lot of sewn detail around the waist/hip area ..

Cut/insert horizontal strips down each leg - preferably one above/ one below each knee .. It looks cute: printed inserts in block-colour trousers .. or lace ..

Then branch out into diagonals ..

I began using a Stitch-in-Ditch Foot, but now I prefer to use an adjustable zipper foot like this one ..

If I remember correctly, Roseanne Barr and Bette Midler are "apples"
high necklines
Wrap shirts
wrap dresses
Short V necklines
straight short skirts to show the geat legs

Simplicity patterns go up to size 32W  for different body types. - the diagrams on the page indicate body shape

I can beat all you "babies" .. my wedding dress has been packed away for 25 years .. awaiting a "family tradition" of "something old-something new" .. but my girls inform me they are not getting married anywhere in the near or distant future .. pity .. beautiful dress ..lace .. train ...oh well..
