1  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Clutch Remake Glue+Fabric on: April 06, 2012 03:34:11 AM

This is a clutch bag I made using an old and worn out 80's shoulder bag, vintage fabric and some glue.

The supplies I used:

I bought this varnish/glue mix thing from my local craft store. A lot of people seem to use Mod Podge when making stuff like this so I guess that would have worked really well, but I am in Sweden and we don't have fancy stuff like that up here Tongue The glue/varnish is pretty good though. Earlier I used it to make glitter shoes and no glitter has come off yet.

I made the closure like this:

... And glued it on to the back of the bag:

And here's what it looks like from the front:

Def one of my most successful remakes! The bag went from being ready for the trash can to looking quite fancy!

(If you're intrested I made a more detailed tutorial for this on my DIY-blog: http://ragstocouture.com/clutch-bag-remake-diy/)

3  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Discussion and Questions / Making cinnamon buns on: March 27, 2010 10:10:36 AM
Yeah, so I am now determined to make the perfect fimo clay cinnamon buns. I want them for some cute hairpins that I ordered last week.

So far there have been two attepmts. First ones got too dark and I guess the second time they got too dark too but still much better. And just to make things worse, I now want them to be in paper cups. Since you probably can't buy muffin cups that small I decided to get extra-crafty and make them myself. I don't think I have to tell you that I FAILED...lol... Maybe I should just put them on some cut out lace instead.

Here are some pictures:

Next time I try this I will probably go with a little lighter shade on the clay so that you can actualy see the difference between the clay color and the parts that I brushed with crayon.

Any ideas on what I should do differently next time? More texture to make it more bread-like?
4  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / My fimo clay stuff on: March 25, 2010 03:07:14 PM
So, I think I have finally found a forum to actually spend time on and learn stuff from! Awesome!

My name is Madeleine and I'm a fimo clay obsessed 24-year old.

Here's some of my work:
