1  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Re: Raven Myth Shrinky Dink pendant on: August 22, 2008 05:19:14 PM
I love it! He is so colorful! I never have good luck with shrinky dinks, maybe I should get them out and try again...
2  KNITTING / Knitalongs / Re: Eunny Jang's Entrelac Socks on: January 13, 2008 04:51:09 PM
I finished my christmas knitting, and my first UFO to do it these socks. I couldn't figure out what was going on where I left off since it been so long, so i frogged and restarted. I read the instructions better this time, so they are going much better, and looking nicer. I can't wait to have them finished!
3  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Re: Toddler play smock on: December 19, 2007 12:13:52 PM
That is such a good idea. It would perfect for sending kids to preschool. My brother is always coming home with something on his clothes. Though the pocket could be dangerous, but pockets on little kids are always getting fill with "stuff", I mean treasures. Good job.
4  HOME SWEET HOME / Pet-Related Crafts: Completed Projects / Re: Underdog...a mermaid and a skunk (Warning lots of Pics) on: December 19, 2007 12:08:57 PM
Very cute. I love that skunk costume. I laughed out loud when I saw it. They other two are pretty creative too!
5  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: The Stereotypical Knitter on: December 03, 2007 04:33:37 PM
I think the thing that really makes me feel good about it is that, as my aunt puts it, I'm a "survivor."  I can make jam and can food, I can create my own clothing, and be self-sufficient.  (sure, it'd take all winter to make a sweater, but still... I could make it myself!)  And to me, that's such an empowering thing... to know that I can take raw materials and make something of it... that any of us can.  It sets us apart, and if that's antiquated, so be it.  In times of need, we aren't going to be desperate for blankets or mittens... just yarn, and I'm sure it'll be easy enough to find sheep!  haha  Cheesy

I live in the frozen north (it was -15 here yesterday) and have actually been told a few times by people that they are coming to live with me when the next ice age hits. LOL. It was a nice complement.

Good job Mooshie! Isn't it great? I think I swiffered my floor for like an hour after I finished mine.
7  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Re: Help me make a football jersey cute and girly! on: November 14, 2007 05:03:56 PM
If you are afraid to cut it up, and have a sewing machine. Just run a loose gather stitch on the shirt when it is inside out to resize it how you want. That way you can test wear it to the game, and if you like it that way, then make the cuts and seams more permanent. Also, see if you can find a cheap football jersey at a trift store and practice with that one before cutting up the good one! Good luck and let us see the results. I was trying to find a way to do this with a hocey jersey.

When you hanging out watching TV with friends, and they comment that you are NOT knitting....
9  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: You know you've been knitting too much when ________. on: November 08, 2007 10:09:17 AM
You have calluses on your fingers where you hold your needles and yarn. It totally grosses my friend jeff out.
10  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Sticking it out: some encouragement? on: November 08, 2007 10:06:04 AM
I use a reward system of sorts to get through tough long projects. Right now I am working on the Mernorah pillow from Handknit holidays for a gift, but it takes forever, and it kills my hands. So for every hour I knit it, I get 15 minutes to work on something for myself (right now a super easy dishcloth) Or a lace knitter gave me this idea. Dump out some M & M's (or skittles or whatever you like) into a bowl and you get one for every row you complete!
