i found it sooo difficult - in fact impossible to keep the white and black fimo clean - so i ended up using paint .

i just read christi friesen's 'cats big and small'  and these kitties are from/inspired by her.

they are about 1 1/2 inches tall.

maeve is going to live with my sister in scotland.
its a surprise so i'm not putting the pix up on my blog for a couple of weeks.

i made basic canes with silver in the centre  and blue or green metallic clay on the outside.  the tail part is made of silver fimo/sculpey then i sliced the canes and used them as scales.  when it was baked i added a little silver paint to the tail, tips of fin and hair.  and a little as eyeshadow/make up   then varnish.

as always the wires and beads were a real pain.... but i managed to get them stuck on without squashing too much out of shape....tho there were some emergency corrections....
she's 8 inches long.

amy is a little fairy with copper hair.  i'm very pleased with the way the wings turned out.  i did brush her with eye shadow before baking not sure i like what little effect it made.... she's living with my parents.

medusa is about 21/2 inches long from hair to chin.  i tried using shimmer eye shadow on the snakes but most of it vanished when i varnished it...

my fishee is approx 3 inches long.  solid fimo.  i had my first attempt at a cane and i sliced it to make scales.  the eyes were an experiment.  white discs with a hollow with a little black snake in it. then coloured deko-gel in it.
in the baking the side fins fell off and the tail got a bit discoloured so i disguised it with some gold paint - but i really like the result!!  and a little varnish on fishee's body.

so here is my angler fish
he's made of a mixture of silver and a pink mix.  teeth and other pointy bits are wire.  there's also deko-gel on the tail and fins ,on the teeth,and a drop here and there.
the little fishies are in primary colours and varnished to contrast with the angler's subtle colouring.  and the star glows in the dark.
i used 'bake and bond' to stick all the fishes together and i'm sooo glad i did it from underneath cos the darn stuff remained visible!!
