1  Re: Old Fashioned Book Lover's Swap GALLERY, send by Feb 26 2013 in The Swap Gallery by RougeRaven on: February 20, 2013 07:12:34 PM
Hey guys, I received from Lindyv321 yesterday!  Grin

She sent me The Long Walk by Stephen King (under the pen name Richard Bachman). The summary states: "On the first day of May, 100 teenage boys meet for a race known as 'The Long Walk.' If you break the rules, you get three warnings. If you exceed your limit, what happens is absolutely terrifying..." Kind of like an early Hunger Games, but less about manufacturing conflicts between characters as far as the game makers are concerned. I am very excited to read it.

I am a Hufflepuff, so she sent me this awesome shirt =)

She also made me a "Reading is sexy" hoopla =)

And a Hufflepuff themed bookmark!

Thank you again for everything Lindy!

3  Snow globe decorations in Winter Holidays by RougeRaven on: December 29, 2012 11:26:29 AM

My "snow globes" don't have water inside since they are made with paper and dollar store wine glasses. I followed the tutorial at My So Called Crafty Life.

4  Re: HO HO HO (Holiday Object x 3) Swap! Sendouts Dec. 3 in The Swap Gallery by RougeRaven on: December 17, 2012 09:52:41 PM
Sorry I haven't posted sooner. The night I got my awesome package happened to be the same night my boyfriend dumped me. (Than 2 days later my best friend got engaged.) It's been a crazy week but Mlheran's package really cheered me up. She did such a fabulous job, everyone kept oohing and aahing over the large house the most. I love it all so much, thank you again Mlheran!

My themes were vintage Christmas- light green, aqua, pink, red, and white; deer; and houses.

My Christmas party ended up being red and aqua themed and I used both birds and deer as motifs. I don't know how she found out but she hit the nail on the head!

Group shot:

See that huge awesome red house? It totally lights up.

She used adorable tiny drums(?) for the feet of the house base.

This is a shot of the inside with the lights off, and a better indicator of the true colors.

This aqua bird house is adorable and so freakin' sparkly! I love it!

The snow globe is straight off my wist- I love how she used an actual glass dome. The ones I ended up making are just plastic. I love this so much!

Best Christmas swap ever. The end.

I received from Hayleylujah, who made a wonderful vegan zine. I was going to post the citrus sugar cookie recipe because I love anything citrus but since that's been posted I'll add this photo-

My boyfriend can't have milk so he is always sad when I make cheesecake and he can't have any, now our problem is solved! This looks delicious!

I received from yoopidu!

She made a great zine about her home state, Hawaii. She included the best places to see the sunset, where to go rock jumping, tips of how to kayak, etc. I love these fish drawings!

I also received from lancmaltby, who made an adorable mini zine featuring pugs!

I love the paper she chose to print on- it's a fine white shimmer paper so everything glimmers and has a slight metallic look to it.

She also included an adorable extra- a kit to make a small pug pincushion of her puppy!

Interrobam and I met up today to open our packages together. I don't know if any of you have had the chance to experience swap shame in person, but Interrobam's package kicked my package's butt. She did an amazing job on all of the projects. This is totally one of the top three best swaps I've been in. Thank you so much Interrobam!

First up, a freakin' Fiona hat! That fits perfectly, with position-able ears nonetheless!

(Ignore my smug face, but my hat is awesome!)

These next two photos are of a very well designed Fiona bag. The handles look like the ears of her hat!

And she put the most amazing detail on the inside- tiny Cake!

I don't think you are ready for this awesomeness: Marceline and Bubblegum dolls!

There are so many details on these dolls that I could flood the board with close ups but here are just a few:

Like the bows on the back of Marceline's boots

Bubblegum had tiny bows on the toes of her shoes but my camera wouldn't focus on them. But check out the perfect tiny pocket

And then because ya know, 4 large items weren't enough, she also made me these adorable stamps:

Oh, and the fact that she is still working on a last large item because she is insane amazing.

Thank you so much for everything, Interrobam. You're a craft god in my book.

I received from thehappycrochetchic Thursday but didn't get home until today to open my package.

I got not one, but two tiny house pin cushions! I love the little deer on the skinny house and the text door on the wide one.

Thank you so much thehappycrochetchic!
