71  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Discussion and Questions / Re: I've bought a BJD!! on: March 02, 2008 05:18:55 PM
Congrats!  I got my 3rd for Christmas...after swearing that I was only getting two.  They're a great inspiration for sewing and crafting in general!
72  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Re: Tokidoki Shrinkydink - [shrinkydink first-timer!] on: March 02, 2008 05:11:26 PM
What a cute idea!  I love Tokidoki, but I never have the extra funds to order anything.

I'm loving the jumbo sushi!
74  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / Re: cause today's the day the monsters have their picnic! on: March 02, 2008 07:30:24 AM
The red lumpy one to the far left caught my eye.  He's turned away slightly, so he looks like he's too shy to join the rest of the crew!

Too cute!

Yeah, you're way more brave than I.  I put one of the cushy skins on mine to protect it!

Did you go back into it with silver paint, or is that just how it turned out?
76  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Re: Heavy tattoed lady dummy ^^ caution:lots of pics! on: March 01, 2008 06:31:38 AM
All I can say is WOW!  It's so vibrant.  I love the fact that everything is very feminine, even things that wouldn't normally be...like the oni mask on the back.

Beautiful work!
77  NEWS AND DISCUSSION ABOUT CRAFTSTER / Introduce Yourself / So after 3 years, I guess I should at least say hi! on: February 26, 2008 07:12:31 AM
I was looking at my profile this morning, and was a little shocked when I saw that my join date was January 2005 and my post count is 0.  I'm not an anti-social person, mind you.  I've racked up 20,000 posts on another board in that amount of time.  And it's not a case of joining a site and never returning...I'm on here at least once a day!  I can't figure it out.  I have no clue why I've had writer's block for 3 friggin' years!!  So I'll make my grand entrance now, and pretend that the previous silent years never happened.  And let that serve as a warning, because I'm pretty chatty!

My name is Ashley, and I live in Jacksonville, Florida.  I'm 28 and have been crafting as long as I can remember.  My mother was a crafter as well, and used to sell at craft shows when I was little.  I think that's where the passion came from.  I, like my mother, like to try a little of everything.  I have a touch of ADD when it comes to crafting.  I'll start something, and then get bored with it, and pick it up a month or so later and finish.  There is never less than 5 unfinished projects strewn around the house, much to my husband's displeasure.

My main love is making jewelry, and mostly for dolls.  I started selling jewelry for 16 inch fashion dolls on eBay in 1999, and the response fueled the passion.  Since that time, I have learned to sew, so I'm also making clothing.  I recently completed my first full-sized project and made myself and my daughter garb to wear at RenFaire.  This weekend will be spent making costumes for Megacon.  I'll hopefully be proud enough to post pictures of the results!

In addition to loving dolls, I love comic books and anime and both inspire my crafting.  I make a lot of cosplay jewelry based on items from both genre.  One of my main crafting themes is making comic book items that are girl-friendly and frilly.

So anyway, I should cut off here.  I warned you that I was chatty!  I look forward to starting out my 4th year as a more active participant and meeting other crafters!
