My sister-in-law is getting married this weekend, and since she lives in California, we couldn't afford to fly the whole crew out for the ceremony. My husband is going, and is therefore the designated gift delivery boy. I wanted to do a handmade gift, and something a little funky and non-traditional. The groom is a tattoo artist, so I decided to make them a tattoo-styled wedding album.
I found a really pretty sketch on Deviantart (I'll post a link to the album if I can find the pic later) and transferred the image onto a fabric covered scrapbook. And then I went to work painting it...and having not painted in years, it was quite a lot of experimenting. I also had a few spots from the transfer paper here and there, so I did some cover up by covering the image and spraying some paint around the cover. My only problem with the finished product is that the paint pen I used bled a little when it touched the fabric, so there are some blotches here and there. But overall, I'm proud of it, and I think they'll love it.
