1  Re: Journal for a month swap GALLERY in The Swap Gallery by jadore-le-rose on: January 25, 2011 08:32:37 AM
I received a really lovely journal from purringcat a few days ago. It's so pretty and it was so interesting to read the month in her life and I found out that we have loads in common as well.

So here's the gorgeous journal.

A close up of my favourite page with an origami crane on it.  Smiley

A wonderful scarf in beautiful colours which is amazing and I can't believe you made me this as a 'small' it's way bigger that. I love it so much, thank you!

Thank you so much, I love everything!  Grin

2  Re: 2010 Advent Calendar Swap. in The Swap Gallery by jadore-le-rose on: November 13, 2010 03:00:58 AM
Firstly here is a quick picture of all of my pressies looking tempting and ready to be opened! I love how Angelicus wrapped this, it's all so pretty!  Smiley

And I have stashed them all away in this big basket for safekeeping...

Now, my lovely advent calendar. Each day has it's own individual pocket with a chocolate coin inside. This must have taken you ages to sew each pocket- you must have a lot of patience!  Smiley

And a little closeup to show the detail...

1st December

Yay! Day 1, I can't believe it's December already- where did that time go? But at least we all get to open our pressies now!

So today I actually opened 2 presents because I noticed that there was 1 extra little parcel in there and I couldn't resist! So in the first present was this lovely little needlebook in the shape of a cupcake. I love this so, so much- I was in dire need of a needlebook, before they were all just sticking out of a pincushion and they kept getting lost inside the stuffing, but now I have somewhere to keep them all organised!

And the second present I opened was this cute little torch keyring and a smiley face keyring! I actually loved the smiley face one so much that I made it into a little pendant this morning and wore it today as a necklace!  Tongue

Thanks Angelicus for a great first day, I can't wait for tomorrow!  Grin

2nd December

Wow, today was another great present- I received this gorgeous handbound notebook with the made with the loveliest patterned paper. It's just lovely!

Thank you so much again!  Smiley

Day 3- Yummy chocolate tree decorations. (Already eaten- but I got a picture before they were devoured).
Day 4- A really cute crocheted stuffie. Love this- I have the perfect place for him to sit!
Day 5- A glittery angel candle- it's like you read my mind, because I have been obssessed with burning candles in the last few weeks and this one is so festive and pretty!
Day 6- Some crocheted flowers and a crocheted hair bow- so cute and so me!  Smiley
Day 7- A mug filled with hot chocolate and a chocolate bar. Oops, ate the chocolate before I could get a picture, but I will make sure to get a picture of the lovely mug- the saying on it is perfect for me!  Wink
Day 8- Gorgeous gift tags, including some handmade ones. Obviously will be so useful in the next few weeks!
Day 9- I cheated and opened two presents today as I was having a rubbish day and was lacking the willpower to resist my big basket of sparkly pressies. Inside I found some gorgeous crocheted handwarmers!  Smiley

Pictures to come, sorry I'm so behind- I've lent my camera to someone, but they will be back tomorrow so expect pictures then!  Grin

3  Re: Mini Make-a-friend swap gallery in The Swap Gallery by jadore-le-rose on: October 21, 2010 11:41:57 AM
I received my amazing Package 2 from Whileywoo and it is wonderful, I feel so spoilt yet again! It was a box jam packed full of all sorts of crafty, foody, whimsy goodies and it was so spot on with my tastes- I love everything so much!

Here is the box full of stuff and is decorated so beautifully with this lovely paper.

Fabric paint, glitter in the most gorgeous colours, mini pegs, lots of star-shaped pastel coloured buttons (so cute!), invisible thread for beading, doubled sided sticky squares, card making embellishments, ribbon and ric rac and lace and some little heart shaped thingies (not 100% sure what these are!)  Smiley

Gel pens, 10 of the cutest little jars of beads in tons of different colours, a christmas stamp which will be so handy over the next couple of months, butterfly and bird charms and a gorgeous rose bead, some pink cord and xmas candy cane type string and two buckety tin things which I love and will plant something in I think!

A chocolate face mask, pink Smarties, a Terry's Chocolate Orange with popping candy (which I had never tried before, but love so much!), lemon curd from Devon, soaps which are in the shape of different animals and made the whole package smell delicious, grow a Sunflower in a bag (love it!) and the cute Russian doll notecard from a pack that I think I sent her in the first swap if I remember right?

Now, I know I shouldn't pick favourites, but these were the items that I adore! Cupcake and stripey socks, a reindeer to decorate (I think I shall cover it in the blue glitter you sent), polka dot cake cases which will be so handy, a cute little beaded seahorse, lip balm which I love and have had in the past but I couldn't find it locally- Sarah must have read my mind again and a gorgeous colour nail polish which I have already painted my nails with.  Smiley

And a close up of the seahorse- so pretty!

Sarah thank you so, so much for another wonderful package- I love every single thing and you had nothing to worry about. Getting a huge box of treasures like this was wonderful, this has been such a great swap!  Smiley

Thank you Whileywoo!  Kiss

4  Re: Givers and Needers Round 8 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by jadore-le-rose on: October 03, 2010 06:34:04 AM
I received a few days ago from zilamonster and it came on a day when I was feeling so ill and to get all this stuff cheered me up so much and I am amazed at how generous zilamonster was, to send such a heavy loaded box overseas, it's so kind and much appreciated- so thank you so much!  Kiss

So here are all the goodies:

And some close ups of the paper stuff including some sticky back mat stacks, which I don't think we can get over here and a HUGE stack of Christmas scrapbook paper which will be put to use immediately for scrapbooking and Xmas crafting!  Smiley

I also got a book on buttons, which is so useful because I have a lot of vintage buttons and just flicking through this I have seen many that I recognise already! Also some photo corners, sticky tape and my first ever rubber stamps which I love so much and have been stamping a ton of papers to use as backgrounds already!

And now the fabrics which are all so 'me' and they are all really big pieces and have replenished my dwindling stash nicely, and will be used to make Christmas gifts with I think. I love them all so much and was so excited to get some Amy Butler fabric! I've never had such nice fabrics before!  Grin

And some thumbnail close ups (my favourite is the one with the mushrooms and fairies!)

Thank you so much zilamonster I love everything so much! You are so lovely and generous! Smiley

5  Re: Personal/Private Swap Gallery, 2010 in The Swap Gallery by jadore-le-rose on: October 03, 2010 05:08:12 AM
I did a personal swap with kayrun, based on the Buy Nothing Swap and we agreed to do a 3 point swap (I think?) and here is what I got- I love it all so much!  Grin

And some close ups:

This scarf is so lovely and soft and the colours are perfect- and kayrun must be a mind reader because I have several blue jackets/coats that this matches perfectly and I need warm scarves for this horrible cold weather we are having in England!

And a terrible action shot to try and show off the colours a bit better!

She also knitted me this gorgeous facecloth, which I think is too pretty to use, so now sits on my dresser underneath a pretty plate I recently painted and they look perfect together!  Smiley

As well as that she also sent me the cutest bow headband, which was something I requested and turned out so perfectly and I have been wearing it so much -I just love it! And also just showing off the cute notecard!

Thank you so much kayrun, this was an amazing swap and I love everything so much!

I received yesterday from Whileywoo, after finally collecting the package that had been waiting for me at the PO, that was agony I tell you! Anyway I love everything so much and many of the goodies have been a hit with my family as well!  Smiley

So first the foody things, Something local to your city- crisps made nearby, which are so delicious! There were more, but they seem to have mysteriously disappeared...  Wink

Something related to your favourite food- Hoi Sin sauce, which I love so much, although I don't think Sarah knew that, she must be a mind reader.

Something related to your favourite way to relax- yummy smelling Lush soap, incense and my fave kind of hot chocolate (again with the mind reading!)

Something related to your favourite sport- I love this one, well I love them all, but this made me so happy. Sarah keeps fancy rats and has entered, won and judged rat shows. I can't believe you sent me a ribbon your rat won, that was so sweet and made me really happy! And I do think it is a sport!  Smiley

Postcards from your hometown- I love these as I collect postcards!

Something related to your pets- a covered cat which reminds me of my cat so much, although Sarah had no idea what she looked like, as she has similar stripes and a toy for Cookie that she catnipped, which she loves!

Something that makes you laugh- I love this it is so funny!  Grin

Something related to your favourite TV, movie or literary character- Harry Potter! I love Harry Potter too and this magazine kept me sane during free periods at school these last few days!

Something you collect- Sarah collects autographs via fan letter writing and has sent me a kit to try it out myself! I don't know who I will write to, but I will! It's funny, this reminded me of when I used to write fan letters when I was younger and used to write to the Spice Girls, although sadly they never got back to me!  Cheesy

Something that relates to your family- I love this so much! I won't go into the whole story, but this is because Sarah's grandmother tells her what is in her garden all the time and birds remind her of her! It's strange how much this birdhouse made me happy, but it really did!

Something related to a new interest of yours- Sarah recently tried silk painting at a local art caf and made me this, which is so beautiful and vibrant in real life, although the pictures I took couldn't capture how lovely it really is. I will definitely frame this and treasure it, as I love peacocks and it is beautifully painted, and I am amazed it was your first time and you were in a rush, you really can't tell! You can also see another of her new interests- jewellery making represented in a gorgeous necklace, which me and my mum both love! It is so pretty and simple and the beads are so 'me'! I've been wearing it since I got it!

And last, but absolutely by no means least... Something to keep you organised- a gorgeous butterfly hook that was decoupaged I think? This is perfect for my room as I have a theme of 'things that fly' and the colours work perfectly! And then there is this amazing sliding book holder, again covered in gorgeous paper! This will be so useful as I have so many books and the colours and pattern on the paper are so perfect! And just look at the gorgeous original Indian coverings on the inside... just stunning!  Smiley

Thank you so much Sarah! This package was amazing, you went above and beyond and now I know exactly what I am going to craft for your next package and cannot wait to start it! Thank you!!!  Kiss

8  Re: September Monthly Odd Holidays Gallery - send out August 23 in The Swap Gallery by jadore-le-rose on: August 19, 2010 01:20:05 PM
I've received, yay! This was such an amazing package, and I think Scarlet_Angel spoiled me... a lot, she went above and beyond! I love everything so much!

So this is everything looking all pretty and wrapped up in a massive box!!! I was so excited when this arrived at my door!  Smiley

And then this is everything that was inside, look how pretty everything is...

Ok, so for Sewing Machine Day I got this gorgeous apron, based on one on my wists with an amazing heart pocket. This is so pretty. Tomorrow I will put up and action shot of it on, because the light is terrible right now...

For International Chocolate Day I got some delicious chocolate fudge in a beautiful decorated box, which will look so good in my room!

And the top of the box...

For Read a Book Day, I got a super useful book cover and one of Scarlet's favourite books, which looks so good!

And inside, the book is called Like Water For Chocolate by Laura Esquivel.

And for Elephant Appreciation Day, this gorgeous painting for my mum, because she loves elephants. She really, really loves this and was so glad that you thought to include something for her, we were both so excited unwrapping everything. She wanted me to thank you from her as well!

As extras two wonderful bookmarks, one for me and the elephant one for my mum!

And if that wasn't enough, she also sent this book I had been wanting from my wists. See what I mean about the spoilage?

Thank you so, so much Scarlet, this was an amazing swap and I really love each and every thing you sent to me, it really made me happy! You got my tastes spot on and I'm just so glad we were partners!

Thank you!!!!!  Grin

9  Re: Super Simple Apron Swap Round 2 in The Swap Gallery by jadore-le-rose on: August 17, 2010 03:56:32 AM
Woo! Looks like I'm the first to receive and I got such a great package! I woke up not feeling too good, and this totally made my day. Thanks so much BoyceMachine I love everything!

This is the second time me and Chris have been partnered and I was so glad we were again, because she's amazing, and super quick (last time I was the first to receive as well!) And we kind of had a head start she knows me so well, I love polka dots!

Here is the apron...

I love that little ruffle detail and a pocket, which is always so useful! And now a terrible action shot, with face cropped out because I look dead, but I had to post, just to show how cute it is on, and you can tell it is very my style, because I was already wearing polka dots today! And if you look to my right you can just about see a matching polka dot bag BoyceMachine made for me last time we swapped!  Grin

And the extras. A matching fabric covered notebook, which I will probably use for recipes and some Shrek cookie cutters which came with a little recipe book, so cute! And I just had to get a shot of the card, because I love me some cupcakes!  Smiley

And a close up of the cute cookie cutters... the castle one is my fave!

Thanks so much Chris, I love everything! Thanks for another great package, hopefully we will swap again in the future!!!  Grin

10  Re: Once You Pop Summer Edition!! Send Outs Aug 9th! in The Swap Gallery by jadore-le-rose on: August 07, 2010 03:36:33 AM
I received today from sparrowarms and I am so happy, because I love everything so much! Beware... there are a lot of pictures, because I got excited! OK, so when I first opened the package, this is what I saw:

How amazing! It's decorated like a tree with a little sock monkey attatched. The sock monkey has my username embroidered on it and is so perfect. I love the colours. I think I will name her Sparrow, in honour of you sparrowarms! Ok, here are a ton more pictures...

Ok, and these are all the goodies from inside the can + the one bigger item we agreed to do.

Everything is so pretty. And now for close ups...

The bag is gorgeous and I love the fabric. I couldn't decide what pic to post, so I posted both, lol! Ok next we have a bookmark, postcard (which I collect) and a heart button and earrings set.

My pictures are rubbish, they really don't show the vibrant colours of the bookmark. Anyway, here's the other side of the bookmark (couldn't choose what side to show, so I showed both, hehe, can you see a recurring theme?) and a scarf belt, which is so 'me'!

Action shot of ring and earrings. I don't have my ears pierced, but for some reason I felt they should still be in the picture.  Grin

Alice in Wonderland badges, which I love!

And the large item, is a wonderful embroidered hoop, which goes absolutely perfectly with the colours of my room. Love, love, love it!

Ok, now I think that's enough pics!

Thanks so, so much sparrowarms, you made me a very happy bunny this morning!  Grin
