I love vintage patterns and have a huge collection of them. I even use them sometimes. Here is a recent project. I bought the pattern on ebay, and made the dress out of stretch denim. I want to make another, maybe in satin or silk to wear on special occasions. Here's the pattern: and here's my take on it:
Wow, what a great pattern. Thanks Calista! This was my first project with cables and Calista's charts were fantastic for keeping track of cables and increases/decreases.
I used Paton's fireside (a dk weight yarn) Thanks for looking
I finished it today! It's the body and sleeves of 'Dogwood Donna' from spring knitscene (which I made already and have worn a lot, perfect for our just-starting autumn here in Australia.) On the front I duplicate stitched a rose from a chart in the recent winter Vogue Knitting International. I didn't do the ribbed neck from Dogwood Donna this time, I just finished the neck with single crochet. I love vintagey looking knits. Thanks for looking!
Here is my version of Dogwood Donna from the spring 2007 Knitscene. I substituted yarns (I used Patons Jet, a wool/alpaca blend.) This is a very quick knit! I like its retro-ness.
