Prompt: Flash Mob - May
Team: Wordy
Bonus Points:
Project Name: Color Book
Project Link:
Brief Description: I saw something like this on pinterest. It is a color book! I made it out of paint chips from the local hardware store. It is thin enough that I can stick it in my purse/diaper bag to help teach my toddler her colors while on the go. We also put in stickers on the different pages, and can add more pages and stickers as time goes on because I used loops to hold the pages together.

Project Name: Black/white toddler dress
Project Link:
Brief Description: I made this black and white toddler dress for my toddler. Her great-grandma helped me some with it, because it incorporated a lot of new techniques for me (basting, pattern making, using fancy sewing machine stitches). It came out alright. I wish it wasn't quite so full at the top of the dress, but she doesn't seem to mind it.

Project Name: Hot Air Balloon Race
Project Link:
Brief Description: My sister-in-law made these hot air balloons for a Paris themed birthday party a while back. Once she was done with them, she offered them to me to hang in the baby's room. I loved them, except that the baskets were boring brown. I decided to spruce them up a bit with some colorful scrapbook paper in the same colors as the baby's room. Hot air balloons traditionally carry things. I love love love them! (Bonus: Baby girl loves them too!!)

Yesterday I received two LOVELY ATCs from jillybeans for my motherhood/breastfeeding theme!

The first one, she made by herself and it looks like it's made with pastels?

The second one was a collaboration with her daughter, who painted the background for this beautiful one!

I love that Burrow card. It is so homey-looking!

Luna's Patronus is beautiful. I love the color of that blue.

The multi-media card is super cool.

Haha the zombie parrot makes me giggle.

I want glittery leaves! I mean, I want plants to not just die upon entering my home, but I would love glittery leaves too!

Kwality, your monsters are so cute! Speaking of kwality's cute monsters, check out the one I got in the mail!!

He is so cute! And so happy about that cupcake!! It's like me when I have cupcakes! Smiley

25  Toddler Teething Cookies in Vegetarian / Vegan by elliot_anne on: April 30, 2015 09:55:34 PM
I've been really disappointed with the ingredient lists in traditional toddler teething biscuits, particularly because so many of them have sugar! Who wants to feed their toddler sugar?! They've got enough energy as it is!

So then I started looking up recipes for healthy toddler teething biscuits, and once again all I could find were tons of recipes with up to a 1/4 CUP OF SUGAR!

Finally I decided to wing it, mash a couple of recipes together, and then put my own spin on it, since I have tons of baby cereal and baby food left over (my kiddo never wanted baby food. Ever.).

I've tried them, and they're a little bland (you know, no sugar...), but my toddler and her best friend absolutely love these! Here's what I came up with:

Apple-Blueberry Teething Cookies

Ingredients:
1 cup wheat flour
1 cup baby cereal
2 Tbsp coconut oil
1 container of Apple-Blueberry baby food
2-4 Tbsp of water

Directions:
1. Preheat the oven at 425 degrees. Line a cookie sheet.
2. Combine all ingredients (start with 2 Tbsp of water), and mix well. The dough should be soft but not super sticky. You may need to add more water or a little more cereal/flour to get the right consistency).
3. On a floured surface, roll out the dough to 1/4"-1/2" thick (younger babies need thicker cookies so they are less likely to chomp through them. Older babies that know how to chew can have thinner cookies).
4. Cut out fun shapes that are
large enough that the baby can't fit the entire thing in their mouth (rule of thumb is it shouldn't be able to fit through a toilet paper tube).
5. Place on cookie sheet and bake for 15-18 minutes (thicker cookies may need more time).
6. Allow to cool completely before giving to baby. These can be frozen for later, or stored in an air-tight container.

What I love about these cookies is that they are so easy to change up! I made a second batch and swapped the Apple-Blueberry baby food for Sweet Potato, and added 1/4 tsp of cinnamon to the mix for a fall taste. Other good flavors would be Banana with a dash of vanilla, Banana-Mixed Berry, Apple and cinnamon, etc. Have fun with it! And I would LOVE to hear any other flavors and combinations you try!!

Here's a picture of the Sweet Potato ones:

It is the 2nd one I've gotten for my rubber duck theme and I seriously CAN NOT WAIT to get enough to frame them and put them up in my rubber duck themed bathroom!

Brief Description: I was looking for a healthy teething biscuit recipe for my 14-month-old... and failed. Everything I found had sugar in them. So I decided to kind of wing it by meshing some other recipes together and adding my own spin on them. Happily, they turned out great! Well, the baby likes them anyway!

Project Name: Diaper Liners
Project Link: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=439101.0
Brief Description: My 14-month-old was having some bad diaper rash issues, and needed a medicated diaper cream. Unfortunately, we use cloth diapers, and most diaper creams are not safe to use with cloth diapers (they ruin them, and make them non-absorbent). So I made enough fleece liners to line every one of her diapers (plus a few extra) and keep them safe from the diaper cream.

Brief Description: I was frustrated with all of the teeth biscuits in the store that have extra junk in them (food coloring, sugar, preservatives, etc). I started looking for recipes online that didn't have any of that... and found lots and lots with sugar... Exactly what I DON'T want to be giving to my 14-mont-old... I mixed and matched some different recipes and came up with these. I rolled them out and cut out hearts and stars. My girl, and her other toddler friend absolutely love them! WOO! Happy mama!

I have another huge photo dump, so I sincerely apologize. However, I HIT 50 PROJECTS! (Actually 52, but 2 I can't post because they're for swaps and haven't been received yet...) Also... when I updated my list, I forgot to hit "thumbnail" for these projects, so they're huge... But after spending an hour just uploading the photos with the world's slowest internet, I just can't bear to go fix it right now...
