I just wanted to share something, not sure if you guys already know it. But greeting cards can be turned into inexpensive, unique business cards/blogger cards. I'm always giving people my e-mail/blog address at meetings and such; so to make each one unique I cut up greeting cards into business card sizes and write on the back.

I've always gotten a positive response and it doesn't take long to make.

This is a stupid question, but how do people make friends here? I kinda suck at that...(I have autism, so...yea) I love a ton of the projects and love to sew; but I'm still not sure how to translate that into making friends.

I love to hand sew things and was wondering what ideas people have about irregular shaped scraps being sewn into something cool. It doesn't have to be a pattern or a tutorial; I can usually look at something and make my own pattern.

Ideally, I'd like to make something people would buy; because I'd like to sell some to raise money for the local Autism Society of America. (they've done so much to help me and others; I'd love to give back to them)

I have literally boxes and boxes of scraps; with the largest being about a half yard and the smallest being very small. It's mostly vintage fabric and girly looking.

Just wanted to point out that April is Autism Awareness month and it would be neat to make something to raise money for your local organization. (like if you have a Etsy shop or craft booth or even just sell to friends) One national organization I like that has local chapters is the Autism Society of America. http://www.autism-society.org/site/PageServer?pagename=stateresources

I can personally vouch for how helpful and friendly my local ASA is. They go out of their way to include not just parents, but also people like me who are on the Autism spectrum. They provide a free resource library for anybody (Which some books can be over $40, so this library is very helpful to families), advocate for increased services to families and individuals, spread awareness, provide respite, offer support and social activities, and much more. I really respect them and feel they respect me. (I've been included just as much as doctors and parents)
