1  Re: My Favorite Book Swap Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by kyerinn on: June 30, 2016 10:38:08 PM
I received my package from smileyyogini and it's full of awesome.

She sent me a sturdy canvas bag which I think will become my new overnight bag (as I've been needing one). She decorated it with an intricate design in fabric paints and the lines are just perfect. I'm awed.

l

Smileyyogini also sent me some absolutely beautiful knitted items - a lovely scarf and matching fingerless gloves. They are lovely. I envy her knitting skills!

And for reading - The Outlander novel which I've heard is really good. I'm looking forward to it.

Thank you so much for all the thoughtful goodies! This was a great swap. Thank you to my partner and to the organizer!  Cheesy

Calitixa, those were some awesome goodies! Really liked the hoopla and plaque. Smiley

I apologize for not getting my post up sooner, I received some fantastic things from my partner!

A lovely watercolor of Jareth in profile and "I would be your slave" lyrics/dialogue in the background. The googly eyes on the rocks are adorable! Grin

Such a cute 8-bit Sprite of Sara and Jareth dressed up, I love it!

And an intricate labyrinthesque necklace with owl pendant and glass orbs. I admire all that careful wire bending!

This was a great swap, thank you to the organizers and to my fabulous partner for all the work involved! I look forward to more swapping!

I received my package from amigurl55 and I love it! She sent me two items based on my own personal characters.  Grin

This is a beautiful necklace based on the colors of the sea to reflect my part-mermaid pirate ship captain.

And I got my first poppet!!  Cheesy She's based on my lusty lush of a rogue and I adore her.

Thank you so much for the wonderful swap!

Here's the first post for the gallery!

I received my package from mcook72677 and it was full of goodies. Smiley

First off, some excellent Scott Pilgrim cards! They're very cute and I'm going to have a hard time deciding whether to use them or keep them...

Next, a long-sleeved shirt (perfect for the wintery weather) with a Ramona-inspired star patch:

And lastly, a collection of Scott Pilgrim trinkets - a hand-embroidered Ramon patch, a Ramona/star necklace, and a Scott key chain.

So much cool stuff!
What a great swap, thank you so much, mcook72677! Cheesy

I was delayed in posting my goodies from PaleAngelLex and will remedy this now!

First off, she sent me a vast array of lovely jewelry, three bracelets and and a necklace in gorgeous shades of jade. (Jade was very important to the Mayans.)

Next is a fantastic hoop based on Mayan artwork. It's a mixed media piece combining embroidery with paint. I like the technique and may have to experiment a bit myself. Smiley I also like how the frame is painted black.

And finally, a wonderfully stitched needlebook that she included after she realized that I am a fellow stitcher. I love it! Brown and blue are one of my favorite color combinations and the Mayan glyph on the cover is perfect.

Thanks so much for the fabulous crafts, PaleAngelLex! Cheesy

Well... I'm really disappointed that my partner won't post pics of what she received from me, despite several requests.  Undecided This is what I sent:

A painted Mexican folky-art frame.
(I saw this show up in a few swaps. Great minds! Wink )

A sugar skull candle holder.

A 2-sided collage/beaded necklace.

And a framed original illustration, "Muertos Fairy."

Thanks again for organizing this, erica_tattoos! Smiley

There are SO many lovely goodies here, I am in complete awe!

I received my package from Kristl yesterday and it was full of Day of the Dead awesomeness. Grin

First, a bag of handmade/hand-decorated themed beads. Jewelry-making is one of my favorite crafty hobbies and I know I'll make good use of these. Wink

Next, an AMAZING shrine with painted skulls and flowers, handmade clay candles and pots of roses and two decorated crows/ravens at the very top. The details are just fantastic!

And finally, my favorite - a hand sewn skeleton stuffie. It's so fun and cute and intricate! I really love it. <3

Thank you SO MUCH, Krystl! Cheesy
