1  Re: Lavi Scarf- Help with stitch in Knitting: Discussion and Questions by nastij on: February 04, 2011 12:38:21 PM
it's called a "drop stitch" - a cowl might be another choice (rather than a scarf) .

You might even have enough to make some matching mitts!

I think you'd like the Cranford Mitts, too:

3  Re: What are your favourite stitches? in Knitting: Discussion and Questions by nastij on: November 20, 2010 12:34:12 PM
The newest one I've learned, and my current favorite, is linen stitch - makes really cool texture and woven-looking fabric that is dense - I used it for a baby's bib that should be practically impervious to leaks.

The reverse side is nice, too!

There's a pattern for a bacon scarf already extant:

5  Fisher Boy Vest in Knitting: Completed Projects by nastij on: July 09, 2010 02:57:57 PM
This is the "fisherman's" vest I knitted for my first grandson, who was born today [7/9/10] at 9:05am.

There's nothing in the photo for comparison of scale, so I'll just tell you that it's 12" long and about 16" in circumference.
