love the pattern, katara!!! i'm trying to get a crochet group started in the town in which i live. most of us, including me, are beginners, and i think that this would be a great first project for all of us! i can teach them how to change colors and whatnot. this is gonna be awesome! i would actually prefer not to felt the bags, so we're gonna use some sugar n cream cotton to make these. i'll show you guys pictures as the project progresses! we're gonna meet either thursday night or sunday night. there will be anywhere from 3 to 8 or 9 of us (at least, that's the number of girls who say that they want to do this every week). i'll let you guys know how it turns out!

I tried to make some cool slippers for my sister with the grannies pictured in one of my previous posts. The project as a whole just didn't work out, so I decided to start an Inga bag. I was supposed to be finished by today but simply did not have the time. Here is what I have so far:

and, no mono here!

I managed to complete the slippers for my sister yesterday, and was severely dissatisfied with the result, so I'm making her an Inga bag =). I'm jumping on the bandwagon! Hehe.

Thanks, lady_sepulchre!!! I love your Puscifer quote =P. I wish my bf liked crafting...all I hear about are cars, guitars, and pin-ups! Haha. I have 4 squares to go until i get to try to sew these puppies together! I really need to be typing a paper right now...oh well  Grin

I was looking around on the Web for ideas for my granny squares when I realized that Mother's Day is Sunday and my sister's birthday is Monday, so I've decided to make each of them a pair of granny square slippers. Here's what I have so far (for my 15-year-old sister):

I think she'll love them! I'll post progress pics as I make them. I'll be working on these between study breaks all week.

Thanks, Ladies!!! I'm really excited to see what all you guys come up with! I made two more last night (one solid black and one solid purple) to make up for today and tomorrow, because I have a major final tomorrow =/. Talk to you guys soon!

I totally want in on this! I have a medical problem that doctors haven't been able to identify yet. They think it's mono, but it's too early to tell. Plus, I have impetigo on my face, so I'm not about going out and about anytime soon...with the exception of four finals I have to take at the University this coming week!

I was bored and bummed and stumbled across this thread...it inspired me to make my first granny square ever! I followed the tutorial link and this was my result:

It was really easy to make, and I really enjoyed doing it. I think I'll make another! I'm excited about this crochet-along. I looked at last month's and am very excited to see what everyone makes this time around! I plan on using black as the base for all of my squares, but am going to randomly do things with them as I go along.

WOO!!! =)

I have cabin fever.

:edit:

So I decided to keep going with the granny square and made this:
