12  Sugar Skull Craft Tote in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by GlinkS1063 on: September 30, 2010 11:58:45 AM
I was so very inspired by (http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=357513.0 ) sadsilver's post at the end of August that I wisted immediately and started planning my attack.  Without an awesome fabric store to visit I had to make do with the funky dot material instead of a more themed pattern but I think I made up for that with a bit more detail to the skull itself.  This was so much fun to put together and I love the way it looks...here are some pics of the finished product (I can never remember to take pics as I work):

the mustache flips up to reveal storage (also and idea borrowed from sadsilver):

Thanks to sadsilver for the inspiration!
Thanks for looking, comments, questions, suggestions are welcome!

13  100% Fake (pic heavy) in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by GlinkS1063 on: September 29, 2010 09:34:58 PM
I was making some earrings for a swap and was so in love with the real tapers I was making that I decided to tackle some for myself as well. Not having gauged ears myself I made them by inserting the earring findings into the clay before baking and sealed with gloss glaze after. Without further ado 6 pictures of the side of my face:

green and teal "candy cane":

glow in the dark spiral:

my personal favorites, green spiral with pink flower:

or maybe these are my favorite, party earrings for sure!

curvy gold and silver drop fakes:

red and black "candy cane"

6 pair of fakes/ the whole bunch:

Well thanks for looking, questions/comments/suggestions welcome!

Without further ado, I give you double-sided-watermelon-wonderment-apron-extravaganza...

18  Hot days/ cool hats in Crochet: Completed Projects by GlinkS1063 on: August 06, 2010 07:18:24 PM
Yesterday was the hottest day of the year here in NC and maybe one of the hottest on record so of course I neeeeeeded to make a scarf and hats for my baby-darlin' and she neeeeeeded to model them for me!  They are very simple beanie hats but I am pretty proud having never made a hat before...I guess the heat was inspiring Cheesy
~First up, a pink set, hat and baby eternity scarf with a pink and green pompom:

~Good models get graham crackers Wink

~And then a plain blue beanie, I love the hat although I feel like it needs a little pizaz, any suggestions?

Thanks for looking, and comments are welcome!

I received from Nannyem today and what a great package it is!  We swapped four items each, ENJOY!!!

The packages before I opened, wrapped in long beautiful ribbons:

First I opened the small general, three very cool notebooks:

Next was the small "garage sale fab", a deconstructed men's watch made into a super sweet pendant neclace:

And next (one of my favorites), small "coffee" themed reusable *duh* embroidered coffee sleeve:

This one is amazing, the medium, so awesome collage (it's so pretty and glossy so the pic does not do justice):

I hung it on my the wall in my craft room immediately (just below a coffee sticker collage made my nannyem as a Christmas present):

Nannyem's daughter Sofia colored this wonderment for me, she said it was a picture of Sofia and Sarah(me):

Here is everything after unwrapping:

I love everything I have gotten, thank you so much to Nannyem for crafting these beauties for me!  Hope everyone has as much fun IYP swapping as I have!!!

ALL HAIL KATIE, QUEEN OF THE NEWBIE SWAP!!!!

Prepare yourselves for complete admiration and adoration!!

I had a *crap* day today and when I arrived home had a wonderful package waiting for me!  Katie (wewillltaketothesea) has made for me some of the most amazing crafts I have ever laid eyes on!  Without further ado, I present AWESOMENESS.........

This is the whole package in all it's gloriousness, I bet y'all just can't believe your eyes...each and every thing is as wonderful as the next!

Katie really made some amazing pieces that I must show y'all in detail...first a craft bag with "oh la la" french embroidery and a beautiful flower print, complete with darling crafting supplies...

Next she made a flower pin with antique lace in the center, I will be sporting this beauty on each of my coats this fall!

And finally, I can't stand it this one is so darling...an owl pillow inspired by my wists...

It is so hard to pick favorites when everything is so beautiful but, well, this guy has a moustache and what's not to love about a little gentleman owl?!?!

I am already enjoying everything and I would like to thank Katie for being such a wonderful swapper and a great partner...my day has certainly been brightened!!!!  Thanks Katie
