3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Anyone know of a pattern/tutorial or have any tips on making a hooded dress? on: April 25, 2013 09:52:26 PM
Would very much like to make a hooded dress...
Large hooded, almost elf-like but not cheesy... more post apocalyptic, desert punk style..

A couple references:

Just not sure where to start and how to go about a big, cowl-like hood...
Any suggestions/ inspirations?

Have never made a dress from scratch before..

If you need an angel let me know!

Awww that sucks. I'm hoping we won't have any flakers but if we need an angel I'll call on you first. You probably already know this but they say how you can get rid of negative feedback here http://www.craftster.org/swapsinfo.html

Awesome. Thanks!

7  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Re: What to do with your old CDs on: August 12, 2011 05:24:20 PM
That is really cool but does anyone have any actual projects with their old cds?
Useful things, cool things? Nothing too cheesy or silly.

Sorry to change the topic but this made me realize that my house has hundreds of un-used cds that probably don't work. Now I want to do something awesome with them!
8  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Need help with scorched fabric flowers ? on: August 12, 2011 05:21:52 PM
I've been trying to make those scorched fabric flowers (multiple layers of circular fabric sewn on top of each other) but I'm not sure if I'm doing right.

The sides of the fabric are suppose to curl- but when I do it this barely seems to be so. They usually catch on fire and maybe curl slightly but not noticeably. Am I doing something wrong? Are you suppose to use certain fabrics? Or is the curl suppose to be that subtle?

So far I've been mostly just been using cotten/old t-shirts, etc. etc.

10  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / How to decoupage manaquins? Please help. on: April 20, 2011 04:21:18 PM
I need to decoupage old vintage manaquins for my moms boutique. Here's a picture of what she wants:

Does anyone have any idea how to acheive this look? We thought of butcher paper or brown paper bag.. but it could be something painted onto the manaquins?

They have to look profesional and were willing to pay for good materials to get the look.

Please help
