Finally found some re-inspiration for one of cinnamoon's larges! My original idea got scrapped and I was panicking a little and then voila! Like magic, someone posted an awesome piece of inspiration on Facebook (of all the places to find craftiness…).
Going home to Pennsylvania this weekend so I'll probably get about nothing done… well, that has to happen sometimes, right? And anyway, I just got FOUR trash bags full of fabric from lovely people on freecycle, so next week is looking crafty indeed
Also, to the question about childhood crafting… my mom was in college when I was little so I spent a TON of my time with my grandma and great-grandma, who are and were awesome crafters! The first craft I remember doing was sewing with yarn on those plastic… grid… things? I can't think of what they're actually called. But my childhood was filled with painting (especially suncatchers), sewing, crocheting, knitting, weaving (both on little pieces of cardboard and my grandma's actual loom), and all manner of gluing-objects-together-and-calling-it-art (I especially loved cutting out components from felt and then gluing them to a felt background to make a picture… my great-grandmother loved them and would continually ask me to make her more of them). Between family (my mom also being into woodworking, bookbinding, and generally anything that requires exactness), and the school I was brought up in (Waldorf education, forcing kids to learn all the crafts!), I had a pretty amazing childhood, craft-wise.
