Ahh! So close to the end! Spending today doing a few last bits, but I probably won't send until Wednesday… I know if I send before that, I'll inevitably think of something I forgot and wish I hadn't sent it yet.

Busy work schedule and attempting NaNo have gotten me all distracted, but I just started working at a local reuse craft store, so I am reinspired! The large that was giving me problems has been changed completely to something else, and one of the mediums I'd basically given up on is back in the plan! Now, to race against the calendar!

I've been feelingke I was sooooo behind, until I took stock of what I have finished. That's anxiety for ya, makes everything seem so much worse than it is. Between that and the renewed lack of internet in my apartment and my newly doubled hours at work, I'm surprised I haven't torn my hair out.

Yet, I plod on! Grateful to have a monthish left, but on I plod.

I have been overwhelmed, between this swap, family Christmas presents and my sudden invite to a pirate-themed Halloween party (and of course, I am too stubborn to just buy a costume... especially since it's for a craft shop I just started volunteering at!). So, I spent the week avoiding all of that and working on the idea I had for wrapping presents! Grin Nice way to low-stress craft the time away while I wrap my head around everything that still needs to get done.

Still trucking along… although I haven't had much time for crafting this past week! Getting back down to it today and hoping to power through one of the smalls before I have to leave for work.

Finally found some re-inspiration for one of cinnamoon's larges! My original idea got scrapped and I was panicking a little and then voila! Like magic, someone posted an awesome piece of inspiration on Facebook (of all the places to find craftiness…).

Going home to Pennsylvania this weekend so I'll probably get about nothing done… well, that has to happen sometimes, right? And anyway, I just got FOUR trash bags full of fabric from lovely people on freecycle, so next week is looking crafty indeed Grin

Also, to the question about childhood crafting… my mom was in college when I was little so I spent a TON of my time with my grandma and great-grandma, who are and were awesome crafters! The first craft I remember doing was sewing with yarn on those plastic… grid… things? I can't think of what they're actually called. But my childhood was filled with painting (especially suncatchers), sewing, crocheting, knitting, weaving (both on little pieces of cardboard and my grandma's actual loom), and all manner of gluing-objects-together-and-calling-it-art (I especially loved cutting out components from felt and then gluing them to a felt background to make a picture… my great-grandmother loved them and would continually ask me to make her more of them). Between family (my mom also being into woodworking, bookbinding, and generally anything that requires exactness), and the school I was brought up in (Waldorf education, forcing kids to learn all the crafts!), I had a pretty amazing childhood, craft-wise.

Eep! Between being busy and having a rough few days, I've completely neglected my posting duties! Sorry about that. Crafting, however, has not fallen by the wayside and I'm building up a little pile of presents that I'm rather proud of Grin Can't wait for sending time, but I'm also glad to have another nine weeks! My inner nitpicker needs them for sure.

Reading GlassKicker's post, I found myself going "ohhhhhhhh that's what it's called." The machine my grandma gave me is a Singer Featherweight… just couldn't remember what the specific name was until I saw that! Tongue

I have a couple of sewing machines stashed away in my mom's closets back in PA, but the ones I brought with me on my move to New York were my Singer serger and the old, gorgeous Singer my grandma's been holding onto for me. The first time I used it was for my first swap and it sews like a dream.

In crafting news, the weather has gotten so pleasant over the past few days, which always puts me in a crafting mood. Hoping to get through a few smalls and a medium in the next week!

Been worrying a bit about the materials I was planning on using for some of the smalls... then, like divine intervention, my mom sends me a link to the perfect solution! Grin Now I just need to pick up some ____ (why don't I already have ____? ridiculous.) and I can get my craft on after work today! It helps that this is a quiet craft... I don't get home from work until about 10pm hehe.
