My sister is getting married and this Saturday we threw her a bachelorette party : D I made the cake; raspberry/chocolate. The big difference between this and my previous cakes is that this has a layer of cheesecake in the middle. It was really really jummy! 



I molded the body on top of it with access cake, covered it in icing. Then put it in the fridge and covored it in fondant.

it is plywood, but she is really picky about what she chews... I took out all the little bits of it (the hanging ones) because she just tossed it around. She really isnt interested in chewing anything that isnt paper, cardboard or stone.

you would also be pleased to know I removed anything with loose thread (the hanging toys, the toilet roll house etc. I also re-hung all of the hammocks with hooks)

I understand your concern but there are no indecations whatsoever that pine is the only safe wood for chins. Its all speculations and misunderstandings - i know the problem with plywood is the glue, but I wouldnt think twice about giving her real wood that I had no idea what was. I also give her hay that contains all sorts of different grass and Im sure that if people writing these insanely long lists about what a chinchilla can and cannot have, knew this, they would pretty much ban all of it.

I know you are saying these things because you care, but I must admit that I really do not believe anything written on the internet. I listen to the (danish) breeder that sold me the little furball, her advice is always logical and makes sense.

her fur is a bit messy because we tried to give her a friend and the new friend thought peeing on her would be nice -_-

and a new tunnel! (the old one was knit and she had it for a couple of weeks. it was bad, I know)



hope youre not mad at me even if Im not as careful about following rules as some owners, I treat her good, I let her out (open her cage and lets her run out if she feels like it) several hours a day. we are right now in the process of getting her a friend.

uhm... can you just stick glas in the oven? will it not just... crack?

I would love to have the guts to have a free range chinchilla, but there are so many things in here that would kill him to chew... and equally many things my boyfriend would kill him for chewing ; )

I also made this little scratch post for climbing. The “house” (it’s not big enough for a grown chin) is just three pieces of wood and 4 screws : )


 I made several hammocks and a cardboard house…



It’s made out of toilet paper rolls. It was time consuming but a lot of fun!
The hammocks aren’t that exciting… they are just hammocks. Now I just need a wheel (we are making that ourselves too!) some branches and some big stones for the bottom and we should be all set : )

here she is! I actually caught a picture of her, in her favorite sleeping position; tucked in between a piece of wood and the mesh xD its not great in quality (and she did stand up when I approched) but she sleeps here. It resembles a feature in her old cage, so I quess she does this for comfort :3

yes, its a joke, please dont comment on how Chinchillas are not supposed to eat nuts and too many raisens. Its a drawing folks, I am not mistreating a chinchilla, its a drawing!!

After having made rather stupid decisions in the past, I was left with less than no money for presents and still had to buy a train ticket to get home. These two presents took me almost a week to finish, but they were cheap and from the heart : )
For my cuty pie nephew


The burger: 2 slices of bread, 2 slices of cheese, 2 different meats, 4 cucumber slices, 2 lettuce leafs, a slice of tomato, two pieces of bacon and a steak.

The challenge was not to cut corners. I made the bacon strips twice and sowed them together (instead of just making both sides at the same time) it takes more time but it gives a better result.

I loved making these I just don’t appreciate my hormones going crazy… I almost kidnapped both kids Christmas eve

So I made THIS



its a chocolatemousse (cream and chocolate heated together, cooled at laid together with whipped cream and egg yolks. It was basically just ganache, egg yolks and whipped cream : ) if you google a recipe you will get one with whipped egg whites - these are great too, I just hate the salty taste from the pasturisation) and a normal tart dough (half butter half flour) with half the flour substituted with cocoa.

The bottom part was all too heavy and boring in comparrison to light, chokolaty chocolate mousse.

I made the horns with white chocolate (2 layers)

initially I thought I was done, but someone asked what it was, so I had to play with dark chocolate...



cutting it and watching vikings loose (why does my team always loose ?)




They faught over the horn AND the last piece ^_^ it may not be all that pretty (compared to fondant cakes) but it was GOOD!

just some advice.... Chocolate mousse is ALWAYS the way to go ^_^

SO!! I wanted to make a dragon and a castle. The guys wanted to watch the Giants game and eat cake, so we compromized : )

Chocolate cake (muffin recipe with whisked egg whites = awesomness)



Making the wall with small balls of gray fondant and plastic wrap (if anyone has a better idea its welcome, I couldnt get the damn thing off it and on the cake without stretching it out of proportion)


The dragon (sorry no in progress pics) made with raspberry flavoured pink/red fondant and black food coloring.

And then we ate and watched Giants getting squashed by Dallas cowboys.... The cake was good...

wow! that looks sooo delicous! I have a million books about muffins and cupcakes, but this genius idea isnt in any of them! I need to find an occasion for making these : )~~

does the chocolate bar get hard when it cools? I just think I would be afraid to have people break their teeth on it
