Yes, lots of ways to go...DEFINITELY. I have a bunch of styles I'm working on. It's funny you mentioned Italy, I have some of those too....of course! Lots of my scooter peeps have done the pilgrimage trip and rode through Tuscany on vespas. A dream of mine is to make that trip one day! In the meantime, I get to enjoy all that the NW and the west coast have to offer me and my vespa. I am so lucky. Grin

I do not like Diamond Glaze, but haven't used it in years, so maybe it's improved. I love EnviroTex for best results. Cheesy

awesome, I'll remember this for when I'm working with Silver in the near future. For now, I forgot to mention, I solder with the tin/copper/silver variety and an iron to make soldered jewelry. Looking for a supplier for this type of soldering. Smiley

Good info Diane! Thanks! I use my embossing heat gun about 5 mins after a pour and it helps, especially when I have a lot of items i'm working on. I will try your suggestions when mixing, this is where I've had the most problems with bubbles.
7  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / Re: Soldering: avoiding ghostmarks on: March 05, 2010 12:24:39 PM
thanks for the info. Now, i'm wondering if "ghostmark" is the correct term i should be using. Every time I solder with the iron (and everything seems clean) in the thickest part of the solder, as it cools, there develops a small, divet-like, scratchy mark that I end up having to file and sand out.
That's why I was wondering if it was a temperature thing. Perhaps I've misused the term...either way, I'm looking for a way to keep what I have described from happening. I'm using Simply Swank brand iron and solder supplies. I haven't gotten a reply from the manufacturer, so I thought I'd ask here.

Oh gosh! Thanks so much! I'm excited that I have meeting with a vendor mid-march. These and some of my other scooter-centric jewelry would be showcased nationally at different events. I think this will be a big opportunity to expand the new biz beyond etsy.

I made a few of these for my etsy store. Thinking of more ideas to market to some scooter vendors in hopes that they buy them wholesale. Thanks for looking!
