1  Bike riding in West Village. in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by fluorescentmind5 on: August 02, 2010 02:52:45 PM

I made this top with cheaply priced fabric my mom scored from india. It was like 30 cents a yard.
and since I only had a yard I made a top using the coffee date dress pattern from burda.
I added a somewhat exposed zipper in the back because it looked boring without it.
It was super easy and I highly recommend using the pattern with instructions from grosgrain!

2  I want to recognize your beauty is not just a mask in Pottery, Ceramics, etc: Completed Projects by fluorescentmind5 on: July 06, 2010 08:56:20 PM
Undisclosed Desire; The Muse

Even though I was listening to this, all I kept thinking about that fugee's song.

I made the mask in pottery class a while ago
and I finally got around to embellish it with all the fun stuff my mom got me from India!
It was really annoying to make, ha, but I love peeling off the mod podge of my fingers.
Then some of the beads fell off, points to you if you can find them :]

3  Floral bow earrings in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by fluorescentmind5 on: July 05, 2010 10:25:42 AM

I made these earring out of scrap fabric, some chains I found around the house.
The fabric wasn't the best, but it was the only scrap I had big enough.
I saw something like this online, and it was a lot of money, so I made them and saved $36!
I even have a tutorial on my blog, if you want to try them out!

4  Rose perfume bottle in Pottery, Ceramics, etc: Completed Projects by fluorescentmind5 on: May 01, 2010 05:00:34 PM
This is the first piece I made in pottery
I did make a gargoyle first, but I don't count that haha, it came out extremely lurid.

This came out better but its still pretty iffy
I'm still getting the knack of it

I wanted to do Marc Jacob's perfume bottle, but the teacher said it was overbearing.

5  Evergreen Show! *recycled fashions* in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by fluorescentmind5 on: May 01, 2010 04:14:33 PM
I had this whole thing planned out:
All these wonderful stores donated eco-friendly clothes and accessories
The art club was going to have a fashion show showcasing all these clothes.
and then all be silent auctioned and the money donated.
However, the day before the show my teacher said the donated clothes couldn't be used!
So had to pull all nighter and make all of these stuff!

I love this juice coin pouch.
I made from a juice carton and it was really simple!

I made this top from mom's old sari.
That's me in the background with black dress :]

I made this jacket with garbage bags
Fused them together to get a leathery feel
and put squared duct tapes on the shoulders to look like studs

The shirt was donated, and I ended up having the model buy it so she can wear it haha
the fringe scarf I made with left over fabric pieces. really simple!

This vest I made a while ago and its all eco-friendly so I figured I could just use it

Paper fringe skirt!
Took like 2 hours
and the waistband is with the leftover fused garbage bags!

I made this skirt using the school newspaper
so someone bought it immediately! aha!
I also made the bag, but I made that a long time ago while I was volunteering as a secretary.

There were two other outfits that two other people made as well!

Sorry for some of the shoddy quality pictures!

There's more pictures on my blog: http://fluorescentmind5.blogspot.com/2010/05/april.html

Thanks!

6  There is unrest in the forest in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by fluorescentmind5 on: March 28, 2010 09:45:00 AM

My friend and I tie-dyed awhile ago and I finally got to take pictures
I found this kit at joanns for a dollar.
I screen printed a tree on to it, and it also came with a gold metallic paint, so if you look closely you can see them.

7  Wearing Elephants in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by fluorescentmind5 on: March 01, 2010 01:28:43 PM
First of all, I haven't been on craftster for a while, [I forgot my old password and I didn't even use that email anymore, I figured I could make a new one.], but I'm so mad that I didn't check back often to because everyone's making amazing things!

Anyway
I absolutely love elephants!
My friend gave me this sleepwear outfit a long time ago from Cambodia
that has elephants on them
and its basically this wrap skirt
and it was like a yard, so I decided to make it into vest.
However there wasn't enough to use to make the whole vest,
so I made the sides with some left over pieces of black fabric.
So I guess its eco friendly?
Now I'm just on the search for some thrifted buttons.
and I have to iron it.

I used a burdastyle pattern, but ditched it in the end
b/c it was too big for me, so I had to tailor it,
but I couldn't too much because it would ruin the back.

Front

Back

It doesn't look as tacky when worn haha.
