Awesome. Thank you!

Myrtle is amazing! It looks like you've made puppets before. A long time ago I worked for a puppeteer and it's safe to say you will be making Myrtle a friend! Wink

This was the first Muppet style one I did. And yes, when I have the time, I've got all my supplies to work on a another.
3  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Slytherin Picture Frame on: February 28, 2010 10:45:52 PM
I'm a Harry Potter freak. I'll admit it. And I've been on a kick to add more of a HP theme to my room. So today, I painted a Slytherin House Frame.

To make it, I painted a wood frame with silver and then used masking tape to make the line segments. For the lettering, I cut stencils out of masking tape and did each letter individually.

This was my test product - I'm making a Gryffindor frame for my cousin. (However, I like Slytherin better. So why not make the test for myself? Smiley ) I have a photo of myself and my cousin in front of the original Ford Angila at Harry Potter - The Exhibition while it was in Chicago this past summer.

I still have to put the frame hook on the back, but otherwise, I'm in love - it came out exactly how I pictured it. Well, okay. So I kinda didn't have a game plan and just kind of went to work, but I'm still really happy.

I made Myrtle (that's her name) for a puppet theatre class. She's my absolute favorite. I've always had a love of Muppets, and had a lot of fun creating her.

She has a foam base, which I cut to form both the head and torso. The fleece I used to cover her is extremely stretchy. The eyes are foam balls, cut in half, and covered with fleece and decorated.

I firmly believe, that if I were a Muppet, I'd look like this.

What font are the stencils? I looked at the store, after having seen how wonderful this came out, but came up empty handed - they didn't have anything I liked.
6  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Learn to Knit Sites? on: February 28, 2010 10:07:03 PM
So, I'm attempting to learn how to knit. I've tried before, but I get easily discouraged. I had learned how to crochet, but never got far with it.

I found this pattern for an iPod cozie - http://chocnvodka.blogware.com/blog/_archives/2005/8/26/1172247.html - and I really want to learn so I can make it.

Only problem? I'm having a terrible time finding a site that explains knitting well. Any ideas?

I feel completely obligated to try to make him a friend. Smiley
