1  shawl to go with dress for party in Knitting: Completed Projects by frogprincess on: December 07, 2013 08:48:19 AM
i decided that i wanted a black lace shawl to go with the dress is made to go to  a party with my best friend . I got all of the items done in the last month. im a bit burnt but know that i will enjoy the results

i knitted the feather duster pattern Susan Lawrence
http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/feather-duster

in some scrumptious  Rowan Kidsilk Haze Eclipse it was black and sparkly. just what all girls need.

i only have one picture. i kinda messed up on the pattern....i didn't bind off properly , apparently there are different ways of binding off in knitting. big lesson to learn. however i saved it by blocking it out and using the bottom edge as the top and the top edge as the bottom. woot for creative ways of fixing mess ups .
here is the picture that i posted on ravelry

2  Top hat of awesome in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by frogprincess on: December 07, 2013 08:41:46 AM
So to go with the dress i made to wear to my best friends christmas party . i decided i wanted to be cool and made a sexy awesome mini top hat.........for a first try it turned out awesome

me wearing the hat to test it out

it sitting on my sewing machine

just a note use the right glue. its never awesome when you work so hard only to have fabric tack glue not be clear and show all over .....and apparently glue gun glue works better and stays more invisible .

i will post a final picture of me wearing it tonight . but i plan to make more . we decided to attach it with hair sectioning clips they are totally the best. It was either that or magnets .

3  simplicity 2338 a real green dress in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by frogprincess on: December 07, 2013 08:26:33 AM
Last year while we were heading to my friends christmas party...i  get to be his date again this year i am so so so so lucky. we decided that if i came this year i would wear a green dress ....not a real green dress....because thats cruel( the cab driver said )....well i ended up having to be cruel and make one just because of the awesome cab.

it became more apparent when fate decided a beautiful green satin thats normally 20 dollars went on sale for 2.50 a meter . so the green dress decided it wanted to come into being .

heres some terrible pictures. im hoping i get a good one with me in it with my friend so i can post it

the top as i was making it. turned out easy to make . MAKE SURE TO CLIP CURVES AND MATCH DART THINGIES.

heres some action shots

this dress was Ok to make . seriously next time i WILL clip curves, you would think by now after sewing for a few years i would do this .

4  tardis men shirt for a wonderful boyfriend in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by frogprincess on: June 29, 2013 03:22:23 AM
So my year anniversary came up with my boyfriend and i decided to sew him some awesome shirts. he loves bright colors but has to wear  button up shirts to his work. We both are Dr. Who fans so i thought that this would be a interesting choice.

so off i went to spoonflower to partake of their awesome fabric. sadly the fabric that came wasn't what i was expecting. The colors were not as bright and the black was more of a charcoal/washed black. The second fabric the pattern was just to large to make a shirt out of . but here is the first of the shirts that worked

sadly my first effort at the *simplicity pattern* for the mens shirt sucked big time. This was the second one and it worked up awesome like. I had to modify the pattern for the awesome tardis fabric.

thanks for viewing

heres a close up on the pocket  so you can see the pattern

5  my lime and black skeleton j- skirt of awesome in Clothing for Curvaceous Craftsters: Completed Projects by frogprincess on: June 29, 2013 03:14:31 AM
so i made a j pannel skirt for myself finally. It doesn't look like one though.  I drew inspiration from the j-pannel wrap skirts that are in the tutorials . but i hand drafted my own pattern with the help of my fiance. I used the bottom of a mens t-shirt to encase the elastic waist band.  I'm using the rest of the shirt making another top.  i love this skirt  Smiley

the last shot is a action shot.

thanks

6  Re: Crocheters VS Knitters Swap 2012 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by frogprincess on: December 11, 2012 03:57:42 PM
my partner wanted me to post some photos of the bag and hook case i made her due to some technical difficulties  Smiley

i loved knitting this bag. i spent most of the time watching documentaries while knitting it because i was sick.

simple lined zip case for her hooks or crafting bits

kinda a crappy picture of the lining .

and lastly  a picture of the first colour work i have done Smiley

the bag is done in a chocolate brown and a baby pink.. colours my swap partner said she liked Smiley and then i found the lining fabric and it sort  of decided  the colours....

i love her bag so much i almost stole it  Smiley but i plan to make another one for myself.

9  Re: WWP Samhain Round 39 (SU 9-30 to 10-6, SO 10-29) in The Swap Gallery by frogprincess on: November 15, 2012 02:09:08 PM
The bag was knitted and crocheted  Smiley It started as a cloth and then spiraled into a bag. It seemed to take on a mind of its own as i made it.  the colours on the bag were supposed to be black and silver ....but lighting can be different and black can look brown...the lining is a grey/silver satin. I am so happy you liked it .im sorry it looks brown Sad

here are a few pics . Smiley
