1  re-painted my bedside drawers - with a squid! in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by bludgercat on: March 03, 2010 05:34:46 AM
(First post, yay)
So yesterday I decided that my bedside drawers needed some sprucing up.
Randomly decided on a squid design (one of my favourite animals for some reason Cheesy)

Before

I painted the whole thing blue, and because I put the paint on a bit thick instead of being patient and doing layers -_- I made a sort of wave pattern with the brush Cheesy
I drew up a squid (with a little help from my trusty How To Draw book Grin)
then I traced the outline on and went over it with a permanent marker

I started painting the squid,

And somehow completely messed it up, I think I put the paint on too thick again, it went all crinkly /: so I scraped all the red off and re-did it. In thin layers this time.

It took ages to do all the layers, but it turned out much better. Finished:

I also painted the handles, they used to be a sort of brassy colour.

C&C are welcome
Thanks for looking! Smiley
