12  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Re: What should I do with a BUNCH of WHITE YARN?! on: May 18, 2011 11:36:02 AM
If you have any yarn left after your blanket, you could make this loofah:

It's what I did with my white cotton yarn  Smiley!

I'm asking because I'm a novice and probably will come up against this but couldn't you just do another round of single or even double crochet around the edges to make them closer to the same size?

Maria's right. Of course the yarns in my stash weren't all the same either. I used 2 strands of yarn when it was too thin to get a similar square out of it. That way, the squares were more or less the same. I had some squares that were a bit bigger than the others, but I did not put these together in the blanket and looking at it now I wouldn't know which were the bigger ones.

I can really recommend a project like this for depleting a stash! Good luck  Smiley

I just thought of an occasion for you... you know how some people have fuzzy dice on their rear view mirror... substitute with adorable sneakers

I have to finish the letters of my daughter's name first, but there are several colours of acrylic and white acrylic in my stash, so I might take you up on that idea.  Wink I found an English version on Ravelry... my Portugese is a little rusty too  Grin It's this one: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/crochet-baby-converse

Cute, aren't they? Yours have come out so well! I can see why you can't stop making them. Ever since I found this pattern on Ravelry I haven't had an occasion to make them, but they are definitely still on my to-do list!

Thanks for the update, miss katamari! I've tried to do one before, but didn't have the patience to finish it, now I can try again...  Wink

My kids would love these - so I'm off to find my scraps of yarn. Thank you for the lovely idea! Yours will look great on your Easter table!

Fantastic! So much attention to detail, I love everything about him: the hair, the face, the nose, the clothes, the shoes, the 2 hearts. Great job.
