1  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Easter / Re: Pastel Easter Eggs (edited to add new eggs) on: March 30, 2009 02:53:15 PM
Those are so pretty! I'm sure it's a no brainer to all you regular crocheters but would you mind passing along how you did them to us once in a while crocheters? Thanks!
2  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: Lined woven magazine handbag on: January 20, 2006 02:09:50 PM
Grin Do y'all think an old road atlas would work? My sister's birthday is coming up and she loves to travel and she loves purses. If I can pull this off I'll be the best sister in the world!!
3  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: Christmas purses on: January 26, 2005 04:59:05 PM
Thanks for the complements! The placemats are actually tapestry! The poinsetta one has silver thread woven through it, that's why it's sparkly. I guess my camera made the santa one look beaded. I thought about embellishing with beads, santa's eyes, trim around his hat, etc. but I'm afraid I'd go too far and ruin it! Anyway in the middle picture of the side view, the white ribbon hanging there is where I made a gusset by threading the ribbon through the placemat and tying it in a tight not. Then I hung little bells at the ends. But my thought is that where it is tied needs some sort of embellishment. I've thought about buttons but haven't found any pretty Christmas ones, they've all been cheezy. Thanks again for the input!!
4  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Fishing lure necklace on: January 24, 2005 02:02:50 PM
Ok, so I was fishing with my husband one day looking for a lure in the tackle box when I picked up one of his spoons (I know, doesn't look like one but that's what it's called  Huh) and said "Hey that would make a neat necklace!" So the next day we went to Academy and I bought a new silver spoon, took it home, cut off the hook and other metal thing on the back with my Dremel and put it on a necklace piece! What do ya think? They come in gold too but I'm a silver gal. I'm sure one could do other emellishments with it but I usually take things too far and would end up ruining it!
5  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Re: Cosmetics hanger on: January 24, 2005 11:36:46 AM
Amazing!! I need one!! I don't have alot of makeup, but I also have no counter space and no cabinet space! I like the convenience of everything being right there, not having to dig in drawers or baskets for that little bitty eyeliner that I'm not ready to depart with! Great job!!
6  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Christmas purses on: January 24, 2005 11:24:31 AM
I know it's not Christmas anymore but I thought I'd share these anyway! I made several of these out of placemats that I got from the dollar store! These are the two I kept for myself, the others I gave to friends and family as gifts. Someone else on here mentioned placemats from Pier 1, guess where I'm going when my son wakes from his nap! Anyway, the Santa one was my first and I was too excited to use it to be precise in how I made it but it came out ok. Any ideas as to what I could put there where the ribbon ties the side together? I thinks it needs something but I haven't been able to come up with anything! The poinsetta one was great for shopping, it's really more of a tote I guess. Hope you like and thanks for any feedback!

Oh and here's the other one:
8  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Valentine's Day / Re: Valentine's Candle on: January 24, 2005 06:40:31 AM
Thank you so much Stargirl!! Yea, prayer candles are the tall skinny ones that usually have a picture of Jesus or The Virgin Mary or other thing like money, love. Your supposed to burn them in hopes of recieving blessings from wichever. Anyway, hope it's not sacreligous of me to take the Jesus label off! But like I said you can use any type of candle, I personally like the tall ones!
9  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Valentine's Day / Valentine's Candle on: January 23, 2005 09:58:42 AM
Hi everyone! I'm new here but I thought I'd share what I did with some candles a few years ago for Valentine's day presents. I put pictures in the member gallery but I don't know how to get them on here! Anyway I bought prayer candles from the $ store and removed the label. I then covered with tulle using craft glue. Then I embellished with ribbon, heart gems, rhinestones, ribbon roses, lace, basically anything that would stick and looked Valentinesy! You can also use short candles like in my other picture. Tulle comes in so many cool colors the creative possibilities are endless! I must however give credit where it is due, I got the idea from my Mother in Law who made me a set for Christmas, also posted in the member gallery. Hope that helps anyone who needed an inexpensive gift idea. I gave them to my friends, family and childrens teachers!
