1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Retro wrap dress on: May 23, 2015 02:33:20 AM
Ages ago I saw someone on craftster make a shirt based off this old pattern, and I loved it. I can't find it now, otherwise I'd link it, but I had to try my version.

It's got a circle skirt on the bottom, ties in the front and back, and buttons added under the arm for modesty. I looooove it! Just need to be careful when the wind blows ;P

This is what it looks like before you tied it up, when you pretend it's a cape..

Lovely! I really want an embroidery machine, even more so after I see cool stuff like this..

Thanks everyone!
I tried to match the glitter with the fabric so whichever way is facing out matches what you're wearing. Nice to see it's a detail that's picked up on!

I don't think i uploaded these here yet! Last summer I made a bunch of reversible necklaces using various paints, glitters and fabric, these are a few of them. I'm impatiently awaiting more supplies to make others now.. I also made some smaller single piece ones, but I'm having difficulty uploading photos.

Thanks for looking!
5  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Re: New paracord handles for my skating bag on: May 07, 2015 12:06:40 AM
Nice fix! Also nice skates, I have the same pair (different wheels/toe stops though) Smiley

That is amazing! I absolutely love it.

adjustments you could make are taking away that little extra space in the back (vertically) and adding some width in the front. Perhaps along with shortening the back bodice, also take a little (vertically) from the front.
But I'm talking about tiny adjustments and the dress already looks great just as it is.

Good ideas! I probably won't do anything to this dress (what's done is done!) but I'll keep it in mind next time I use the pattern Smiley

It's beautiful. Making things with your own pattern is very satisfying, and a bit nerve wracking. Congrats on a wonderful dress. I'm obsessed with sundresses right now, and I've pinned yours as a neckline reference for when I get around to making a few of my own.
Sundresses are an addiction! I just can't stop.
8  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Re: Weekender bag *PIC Heavy* on: May 01, 2015 09:35:28 PM
Thanks for getting back to me! I appreciate it, I'll definitely do a couple stitches in the corners if it seems too droopy.

I just finished this dress and wanted to share it with you. CCW! It's my own pattern but I never made it with non stretch fabric before so there's not really enough room in the bust, makes me look a bit flat but that's not the end of the world.
You wouldn't believe how many times I ironed this dress and it's still super wrinkly..

Thanks for looking!

That's beautiful!
I've got a question about the lining that you could maybe answer? Since this purse is essentially a box (if you simplify it) the lining would also be a box.. Do you find that the lining in the top corners sag or fall down or are they sewn in place? I have a purse pattern I want to make but I can't figure out how to avoid this issue, so I'm wondering if it's maybe a non issue..
I hope that made sense.
