That is very cool! I love the lacing very much. Did you make button holes for the lacing to go through?

i used some eyelets my got from my granny...
had to choose between adding a zipper or doing the eyelets.. so i choosed the eyelets =)
(never added a zipper an my mom told me all the time how much she hates it )
3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / the dress that ought to be a skirt (first completed project) on: May 20, 2010 10:06:51 AM
I saw a couple of those high waisted skirts here on crafster and i thought it would be cool to have my own.. so i started sewind, without any patterns and without knowing what i'm doing..

guess what happend?Huh

i messed it up =) =)

But i found out that the "skirt" is long enough to become a dress (don't ask me how that happened).
i changed it a little an now it is a dress!

it turned out better than i expected and i think i'm going to wear it this summer...

here are some pics:

the front:

the back:

(this pic makes me look really really fat)

the mess and a almost close up of the fabric i used:

thanks for having a look

c&c is welcome

9  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Re: felling a little helpless about the dress, that ought to be a skirt.. on: April 14, 2010 02:58:10 AM
the problem is, i didn't use patterns..
i head this idea on my mind.. and started.. not clever.. i kow =)
so here are some pics.. i dunno if they help..

here's the whole dress.. it's very staright,, wich (i guess) is the problem

thats the top (former waistband) wich has to be tightened...

my mom and i thought about leaving it as long as it is and add some elastic strap in the length we need.. but we're not sure if it works..
the other idea we had was making the back look like a corset.. but we're again not sure if it works..
pleas tell me what you think..

http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=119224.0

i think it's really cool and pretty dressy..
if i were you, i would choose a dress over a skirt, just because of the top-problem, i never know what kind of shirt to wear Wink

so, what ever you choose you have to feel comfy..
i wish you good luck with the guy Wink
