1  the dress that ought to be a skirt (first completed project) in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by Schnucki on: May 20, 2010 10:06:51 AM
I saw a couple of those high waisted skirts here on crafster and i thought it would be cool to have my own.. so i started sewind, without any patterns and without knowing what i'm doing..

guess what happend?Huh

i messed it up =) =)

But i found out that the "skirt" is long enough to become a dress (don't ask me how that happened).
i changed it a little an now it is a dress!

it turned out better than i expected and i think i'm going to wear it this summer...

here are some pics:

the front:

the back:

(this pic makes me look really really fat)

the mess and a almost close up of the fabric i used:

thanks for having a look

c&c is welcome

hello crafsters..

i was inspired by a video i showed her..but i'm not happy with what i made...
here's what i got so far:

Its about to say: i love you mommy but i don't like you all the time..
i only like you when you give me cookies....

3  Re: felling a little helpless about the dress, that ought to be a skirt.. in Clothing: Discussion and Questions by Schnucki on: April 14, 2010 02:58:10 AM
the problem is, i didn't use patterns..
i head this idea on my mind.. and started.. not clever.. i kow =)
so here are some pics.. i dunno if they help..

here's the whole dress.. it's very staright,, wich (i guess) is the problem

thats the top (former waistband) wich has to be tightened...

my mom and i thought about leaving it as long as it is and add some elastic strap in the length we need.. but we're not sure if it works..
the other idea we had was making the back look like a corset.. but we're again not sure if it works..
pleas tell me what you think..
