34  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Valentine's Day / Recycled catalog to Heart Bookmark on: January 27, 2013 09:49:09 AM

Clothing catalogs that come in the mail can be a good resource for paper with color and textural designs. Recycle the pages into a stacked heart bookmark by using a heart shaped paper punch. For the base of the bookmark, use the white glossy card stock divider that comes in boxed teas. They are the perfect size. However, any card stock or even a recycled cereal box will do. There is a short slide show. Video is provided at the end of instructions for the more detailed close up step-by-step

38  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Crochet Filet Chart for a Spiral Hand symbol curtain, wall hanging--->Free Link! on: November 02, 2012 09:58:22 AM

The Spiral Hand  is seen in cave paintings and  petroglyphs throughout the Southwest U.S. Many Reiki therapists use this image as a symbol of healing.
With #10 thread and a #7 steel hook, the piece will be 7.5x 11. However, by using doubled or tripled thread, or yarn even, you can get a bigger piece for a curtain or wall hanging.
You can also make in in tapestry crochet, using 2 colors and changing the the stitches to sc.
