I've made knifty knitter hats and accented them with crocheted doo-dads. I don't see why you couldn't crochet the ears and eyes for a critter hat. Just be careful with the placement of your details.

Hi, At your skill level, you could make a stocking in a couple of evenings or a Saturday afternoon. There is no shaping, so all you need to do is count the rounds. Once you complete one, you'll be cranking them out in no time! Scraps work great for this stocking, too.

If you need more help, I'm always here for you.

Here is a stocking that has been created with the beginner in mind, but anyone with any skill can make it. You don't even have to sew anything! It's made with 4-ply yarn, Red Heart's Super Saver and an H/5.00mm hook.. Once you make it, the color possibilities are endless.

Such a cute little pattern! If I can squeeze it in, I will most definitely do it.

That would be great!

Do a google search on crochet Tulip Stitch, there's bunch of them, especially on pinterest.
I remember this stitch from an Annie's Attic pattern, years ago. I remember making a sampler pillow with one of the squares using this stitch.
It's a popcorn and chain loops flop over until the next row when they're taken up by the stitches on the next row.

You can work this little critter either from side to side in hdc or from bottom to top in sc. There are two charts provided. Use worsted weight yarn and an I 5.5mm hook.

Yes! Germs can be beautiful. I'm fascinated by the TV show, Monsters Inside Me.
