41  Red Mary Jane Christmas Stocking in crochet with free pattern link! in Winter Holidays by Maria Merlino on: December 15, 2011 08:53:17 AM

Here is crocheted red shoe and stocking pattern for your gift giving. This stocking is made vertically for the sock, then in the round for the shoe. I used no actual buttons, but crocheted a button for the strap so that it is child safe. Made with worsted weight yarn and an I hook.

42  Dancing Bear Afghan with free link! in Crochet: Completed Projects by Maria Merlino on: October 15, 2011 08:18:43 AM

This darling bear will dance into your heart! Color changing single crochet, or Tunisian stitch will bring it to life.

Use worsted, about 42 ounces for background and 21 ounces for bear. Use an I/5.5mm hook to make the initial chain, then switch over to an H/5.00mm hook to complete the afghan.
chart is 64 squares across by 83 squares high.

43  Skull Doily with Brain Slice Edging!-->Free Pattern Link in Crochet: Completed Projects by Maria Merlino on: October 13, 2011 02:39:06 PM

Here is a skull doily that can be made of thread. If you want an afghan square use yarn and leave off the Brain Slice edging!
I suggest the extended double crochet stitch to keep this nice and square. Check out my ravelry page for my free tutorials on the lacet stitch and the extended double crochet.

47  Crochet Halloween Ghost in a Pumpkin House--Free pattern link in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by Maria Merlino on: October 01, 2011 10:51:06 AM

Just in time for your Halloween decor is Ghost in a Pumpkin House! This little guy wears the lid for a hat and his interior is a recycled empty toilet tissue roll. He just takes a 1/2 ounce of yarn and a G/4.00 hook. Fill him with small candies for an extra treat. The arms are made along with the body, so no sewing!

The pattern is free and I hope you enjoy making the project:

48  Crochet Hook Wall Hanging with free chart! in Crochet: Completed Projects by Maria Merlino on: September 05, 2011 09:08:00 AM

This is a 4 inch by 30 inch wall hanging done in the single crochet tapestry stitch. I used an H/5.00mm hook and Red Heart Super Saver worsted yarn. It takes just a couple of ounces, an ounce for the background and less than an ounce for the hook image. You can  use up your scraps. I hope you like it!

49  Toy Bag with free pattern links in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by Maria Merlino on: August 04, 2011 07:22:56 PM

Hi, I usually post in the crochet section but I've been sewing easy projects with my Hello Kitty sewing machine. I got an email about Spiffy Spaces and I thought I could clean up the the toy corner. I made a giant drawstring bag with the word TOYS appliqued to the front.
I made a free how-to if you'd like to make one for yourself.

Here is the article:

This is the photo tutorial:

Here are the TOYS applique download:

I hope I posted in the right forum! If not, let me know.
