I designed this hat with a a big stencil-like flower on top. It uses less than 2 1/2 ounces of worsted weight yarn and an H/5.00mm hook. There are close-up photos.

You can make one too if you go here: http://www.examiner.com/article/crochet-a-big-flower-petal-tam-beret-fashion-accessory-pattern?cid=db_articles&no_cache=1443102852

2  Pineapple Flap Bag with free pattern in Crochet: Completed Projects by Maria Merlino on: September 09, 2015 01:39:53 PM

Made all in one piece with a crocheted ribbon closure. Use up your scrap yarn with this pretty little purse that can be made in so many great colors and has so many uses, bridal, baptism, religious, prayer, mother's day, easter, communion, halloween, valentine's day, etc. depending on the color. Use the darker color for the purse and the lighter for the pineapple to make it really stand out. Made with your standard 4 ply in small amounts. I used a G/4mm hook for a tight weave.

4  Giant Butterfly Stole or Shawl in filet includes free pattern! in Crochet: Completed Projects by Maria Merlino on: July 30, 2015 03:43:06 AM

Here is a big beautiful butterfly to show off! I used normal worsted weight yarn, the filet stitch and an I/6mm hook. You work the chart vertically for ease of construction. It goes fast and you can probably make it in a weekend

And here it is full length

8  Kanji Dream Symbol Afghan in the row count method in Crochet: Discussion and Questions by Maria Merlino on: January 31, 2015 04:44:14 PM

Work this one sideways.  Instead of a chart, row by row counts are given. This can be an easier way to approach a chart as the counting has already been done for you! H/5.00 hook and Super Saver yarn by Red Heart in your choice of colors. I used white and turquoise.

The free pattern is here:

9  Pineapple Butterfly in Crochet: Completed Projects by Maria Merlino on: January 31, 2015 12:48:59 PM

I used red thread and a #7 steel hook. It didn't take long at all. The antennae are attached to the head, so no flopping around and it can be sewed onto a t-shirt.
