1  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Old end table to new kid-size table on: June 28, 2016 07:33:13 PM
I hope it's okay to post this here.  I PM'd a moderator 2 weeks ago and haven't gotten an answer.

I made this adorable, patriotic kid-size table

From this old, dirty, water damage end table

I'm still working on doing something with the bottom part of the original table, but it's not working out quite the way I wanted to yet.
2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Can someone tell me if my RECON idea will work? on: June 22, 2012 08:34:13 AM
I have very little sewing experience, but I love the idea of reconstructing clothes...I always have, but I get these ideas, and I'm just not sure if it will work, so I chicken out.

Here's what I'm wanting to try, I've seen several people have reconned tees to add a strip of fabric along the sides, but I want to cut a T-shirt up both sides and sew a wedge shape of fabric onto each side to make it an A-line (and to make it bigger around the stomach area).  Will this work?  I keep trying to imagine how it will look, and I have this horrible image that it will be awful, and I will have ruined 2 perfectly wearable shirts to try it.

Has someone tried this?  Can you share pics?  Tuts?
3  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Yarn....lots and lots of it on: June 22, 2011 05:13:34 AM
My MIL gave me a huge tub of yarn, and I'm tired of making scarves.  That's all I really know how to knit, and I'm not a fan of crocheting.  What are some other crafts I can make with yarn?  I've tried doing a search here, but it always leads me to the knitting or crocheting forums.
4  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / My first recon! NOW with PICS!!!! on: June 14, 2011 05:21:34 AM
Sorry for the crappy pics, they make me look even wider than I really am. Shocked

You can't tell in the pic, but this shirt had a belt that was sewn into it that reminded me of a bandeau top which inspired me to do this.

AFTER (with a black t-shirt cut off at the armpits):

I wish I would have made it a little longer.
C&C's welcome.  I'm actually working on a couple of other projects with the rest of the shirt.  I'm making a shrug with the top and sewing the bottom ruffle onto the bottom of a turquoise tank.  I'll post those when I'm done, IF they turn out ok.  lol
