21  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Scrapbooking: Completed Projects / 70's Cool ( a memorial page about my dad) on: September 30, 2010 09:01:01 PM
We lost my dad suddenly and tragically in a traffic accident in July.  We gathered so many photos of his life for the funeral services.  I created this page because I was so inspired by his many different looks.  I wish I would have created it while he was still here to appreciate it....

22  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Scrapbooking: Completed Projects / JK Rowling Book Reading/Signing Layout on: September 23, 2010 09:33:35 AM
I was lucky to attend a book reading/signing with JK Rowling at Carnegie Hall in New York - - I created this scrap page about the experience

The journaling is hidden under the owl - it is pretty long, but you can read all about the signing on my blog
http://reelgirlsanimalhouse.blogspot.com/2010/09/harry-potter-and-deathly-hallows.html

Some special notes about this layout:
I found a Harry Potter font online, printed it on cardstock and cut the letters out by hand. I cut the image of Hedwig the owl from a children’s poster, adhered it to chipboard and then used Helmar Crackle Medium on it. I fashioned the Gryffindor House banner out of felt, fabric and embroidery floss, I found the image online but really wanted it on fabric. So, using Helmar V2 spray I attached a piece of fabric to cardstock and ran it through my printer. The book page is from a 1915 textbook called “Chief Contemporary Dramatists” that I found at a thrift store. The feather, pressed flower, owl and banner all represent different things from the Harry Potter books. On the edges of my cardstock, I used Tattered Angel masks and ink.

23  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Vintage Altered Vanity Case on: May 24, 2010 05:50:40 PM
Took an old hard sided vanity case from the 70's and re-made it into this........

24  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Scrapbooking: Completed Projects / Sheldon the Wonder Turtle on: May 20, 2010 11:24:09 AM
This is Sheldon the Wonder Turtle.  He lives in a 40 gal aquarium in my craft room and he is a total beggar!

Lately I have been loving using Kraft cardstock for all my layout bases.

25  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Scrapbooking: Completed Projects / Another one of my dogs! on: April 27, 2010 01:35:01 PM
I don't have kids, and I really enjoy scrapping all my pets!  This is Henry - - he has a very expressive face.  This was the first time I tried my hand at quilling an accent - - I need to practice - - it's harder than it looks!

26  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Scrapbooking: Completed Projects / Monochromatic scheme with B/W photo on: April 22, 2010 10:56:46 PM
I love doing monochromatic color schemes with my BW photos.
This is my little man, Peetie - who obviously has many other names!

27  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Paper Cupcake Liner Topiary! on: April 20, 2010 05:52:38 PM
I created this topiary  as an Easter centerpiece - - I think it would also be lovely for Mother's day!

I folded and stapled 3 cupcake liners at a time to create "carnations" and then dipped the edges in Helmar Gemstone Glue, then into Art Glitter and then glued them to a styrofoam ball.

I wrapped the dowel in ribbon, poured plaster of paris into a small terra cotta pot and let mostly set before sticking in the topiary - - it is VERY top heavy!

Close up to show glitter:

28  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Bird House Plant Pick on: April 20, 2010 04:15:42 PM
I buy these wooden shapes on dowels from Michael's for .25 and .50 cents each (they go on clearance at the end of every season).  After I alter them, I tie them on top of packages or stick in a plant or bouquet of flowers as gifts.

29  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Scrapbooking: Completed Projects / A recent layout for Spring..... on: April 20, 2010 04:10:20 PM
I have not yet figured out my scanner - - so my scans are a little wonky!
