i've been on a total bill kick lately, and i'm not sure why.  stenciled this on a black tote i made.  gawd, my fingers were sore.

an hour and a headache later, my domo-kun hat is complete.  faux fur is a bitch to work with.  felt is nicer.

My guy friend has a pair of aviator sunglasses that cause him to believe he's a cop complete with handlebar moustache and southern drawl.  So, naturally, a t-shirt glorifying his "profession" is a perfect Christmas gift.

Unfortunately, while ironing the design to set it, it smeared a teensy bit by the mouth.  Barely, but still a teensy bit.  Should I add some sort of lettering?  Something along the lines of "freeze!", maybe.  Or maybe I should realize that he's a boy and won't notice.

My mom gave me a yard of pink camoflage heavy cotton to use, and I thought it would make a pretty cool hobo bag.  There's a small pocket inside and its closed with a light pink zipper.  I wouldn't necessarily carry this, but I'm sure someone would.  If anyone's interested in buying it, let me know.

I have an obsession with giraffes, so when I saw this awesome red upholstery fabric with the most adorable giraffes and elephants on it for $4 a yard I grabbed it right away.  I used Tinafish's hobo tutorial but made a few alterations.  Its my new favorite bag.

10  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / Thurston Is My Homeboy. A Sonic Youth/Jesus collaboration. on: July 29, 2006 04:57:12 PM
My boyfriend and I got tickets for the Sonic Youth show here in Milwaukee on August 6th.  I really had nothing decent to wear, so I decided to stencil a shirt.

I used a plain white Girl's 14-16 white shirt that I scored from Target for $1.  There was a "Jesus Is My Homeboy" parody stencil on the Stencilry which depicted a member of Fall Out Boy in place of Jesus's head.  I took it upon myself to replace it with a picture of the almighty Thurston Moore's head, as well as putting "Thurston" in place of Jesus's name.

The stencil took forever to cut out, but I am completely thrilled with the end product.

EDIT:  Lee came outside about five hours before the show and caught a glimpse of it.  He asked if he could take a picture of it with his phone!  MY SHIRT IS ON LEE RANALDO'S PHONE! Gah, I wish I could hug him.
