2  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Selling Crafts on Etsy.com / Re: Titles of Items on Etsy...is there a magic formula? on: April 04, 2010 09:08:04 AM
The title is VERY important, it should be descriptive but also should be short and include all important keywords. In your case the 'Vintage French Postage Stamp Pendant' is better, you could add the "handmade" word because it will help Google. You should also think about making first 160 characters of the item full of keywords. If you want to read more about it download the Etsy Guide to SEO, there is everything written there.

NOTE: Currently Etsy has some problems with Google = hardly any Etsy sellers appear in search results on first couple of pages, same with internal search Cheesy But making your listings and shop SEO-friendly won't hurt you at all!
3  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Neck warmer in green on: March 08, 2010 03:07:50 AM
I absolutely adore this yarn - I bought it just because I liked it and had a huge problem with deciding what should I do with it. Finally, I made this lovely neck warmer:

Here are coasters I made some time ago.

You can use any type of yarn or size of crochet hook but the size will change based on yarn and hook size.

10  CITY GUIDES FOR CRAFTSTERS / EUROPE / Re: Cyprus on: February 22, 2010 07:10:19 AM
Good to know Smiley
Nicosia:

RAINBOW - there is another one close to the old town (facing the Ledra street entrance go right) - it's much bigger than the one on Makarios Str., they have supplies for almost all crafts

Mavromatis Bookstore - Byzantium Str. (Strovolos) - they have very nice section with supplies for artists, textile paints, canvas, clay etc.

Don't remember the name but there is a great shop on 28th of October (Engomi), next to Papaphilipou Ice Creams - huge wall of all kinds of ribbons/cords/threads + gift boxes, gift wrapping papers, small decorations etc.

If you are looking for fabrics, there are many small shops on a street parallel to Ledra Str., I think it's Phaneromenis Str. (10 different or even more shops with hundreds of different fabrics)

Btw. do you know where I can buy a sewing machine here in Nicosia?
