1  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Discussion and Questions / Re: Is there a tute or pattern for a tiered ruffle skirt? on: February 25, 2010 04:25:01 PM
This tute may be a little closer to what you''re looking for.  Anyway, you may be able to modify it to add the third ruffle.

Also, I have a pattern for a ruffle shirt that gives you the basic idea of how to do the three ruffles.  You''d just have to change up the top to make it a skirt rather than a shirt.  It''d definitely be helpful for the ruffle part though.

Hope this helps!
2  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Discussion and Questions / Re: some silly novice ?'s on: February 25, 2010 04:09:30 PM
There are several places on Etsy that have beautiful patterns with super directions.  With those, you simply print out the patterns, tape them together, and cut out.  I am new to sewing as well, and I purchased a few patterns from Heidi and Finn (heidiandfinn.etsy.com) and all were super easy.  They had a step by step tutorial with pictures and print out patterns. Hope this helps!  I''ve also found some great tutorials online for some very cute things.  I''ll have to round them up when I get back to my home computer and can let you know if you''re interested.

Thanks to the other posters for some awesome tutorials!!  Definitely will bookmark those  Smiley
3  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions / Re: Found great new patterns- easy for beginners, anyone tried them? on: February 23, 2010 01:35:26 PM
I just got into sewing the last few months and purchased several of her patterns.  I have made the Perfect Party Dress, Ruffle Shirt, and Pocket Pinafore.  All were SUPER easy to create and turned out beautiful.  I also purchased the Chic Swing Coat pattern but haven't made it.  Again, that tutorial looks super easy, just time intensive since there are so many parts.  Another great seller I found is Frog Legs and Ponytails on Etsy.  The Carson Ruffle Shirt is beautiful!
