3  AWESOME PENCIL BOX FOR A SUPER STAR TEACHER! in CHALLENGE 54 ENTRIES by mrsjimenez678 on: September 03, 2010 02:54:55 AM

86 pencils, a little glue, and lots and lots of patience later.... this came to be:

i used E6000 glue for the top, and loved how it came out (but I was getting a headache from the fumes) so i decided to switch to hot glue - which i did and didn't like.  liked it because well, its super secure, didn't smell bad and bonded quickly... and hated it, cause well - you can see the glue.  but over all i think its adorable.
the white flower is actually an eraser, and the feet are also erasers.

i loved the shimmer the pencils had!  so pretty and bright!  to personalize this for my friend, I took some scrapbooking letters and painted them white.  The DOT after the MRS was a little piece of eraser I cut off with an exacto knife (very scary tool).  My husband helped me cut down two pencils to put under the top, so the top would fit snuggly when closed.  Once everything was done, I sealed the letters and erasers with modge podge so the erasers would stay in tact!

Funny thing, I completely forgot to take pics at home... these were taken on the hood of the car!  luckily my mom was still in the parking lot or else I would have no picture to show!

Hope you like, and thanks for the challenge.  I had a lot of fun putting this little box together.  My friend (she's a 3rd grade teacher) will be using it store her "good job" "good student" stickers for her kids.

4  Re: Spell My Name Rd 4 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by mrsjimenez678 on: August 11, 2010 03:32:41 PM
Hi Everyone.  I asked Crystal to post pics for me of the wonderful package she sent as i have been on bed rest for quite some time now... I am happy to say that although my recovery has been slow - everyday i get to spend more and more time out of bed!  I wanted to post pics of everything Crystal sent and comment on those items:

Day of the Dead IPOD cozy... so beautiful!  Love it love it love it!

check out my beautiful necklace!  i wore it yesterday when the family came by for a visit and all my nieces loved it!

I collect picture frames - and this is now my favorite!  I plan on putting a pic of my great grandma and grandma (now in heaven)... the quote is beautiful!  it reads "The day which we fear as our last is but the birthday of eternity"

Cute Magnets, these are being put away till the little guy understands they dont belong in his mouth - but i love the bright cheery colors!

Yummy Candy - as you can see the hubby wasted no time getting into the goodies... we loved seeing the way things are packaged in Canada.

and there was a cute orange flower pen, but my son took that one over and i have yet to find it.

Crystal, thanks for the awesome swap and for being so understanding about my injuries.  You should be receiving any day now, as my husband sent it out a few days after yours was sent!

Karen, you did an awesome job organizing and also just wanna say thanks for your patience with me!

Everyones work has been fabulous!  Thanks for reading!

5  Re: Spring Cleaning 2010: Fill a FLAT RATE Box; GALLERY send by 5/22 in The Swap Gallery by mrsjimenez678 on: May 20, 2010 09:30:21 PM
I want to apologize BIG TIME to LINDSAY614 for lagging at getting these pictures up.  She knows the reason, but I feel bad that it took me forever.  I loved everything.  the loot was WONDERFUL with a little mix of everything....  this was my first swap and i for sure was not disappointed.

So here is the loot in its entirety. the entire bottom is covered with 12x12 scrapbooking paper, she also sent the prettiest fabric swatches, cookie cutters, christmas towels, a paper tearer, scrapbooking paper in many different sizes, a pretty green beaded ribbon... she sent these tiny little metal words. "Hope" (my stepdaughters name).. and "wisdom". um... she sent a clear stamp block, stamps, glue tape, wire alphabets, sticker alphabets, felt, gift card holders, a gingham mini scrapbook... clothespins... you get the picture... she hooked me up! THANKS LINDSAY614 this was awesome!

6  Mothers Day Card in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by mrsjimenez678 on: May 05, 2010 01:06:04 AM
Hi everyone. Just finished my Momma's mother's day card (from the grandson).  My mom loves crazy colors, and i have to admit the mix of colors at first was a challenge, but i really love it.   i'm thinking of including an empty frame that says "frame card here", so once mothers day is over and its off her desk, it can go on her wall...  hope you all like it and thanks for letting me share!
