1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / corsetcorsetcorsetcorset :D (image tubby) on: April 24, 2010 07:13:11 AM
ok, so I love sewing (obviously) and I love corsets...looking at them, the feel of them , the almost inhuman shapes they make. yum! so I decided to combine the two and make some Smiley
I've made a few before, but this one is fully boned and from a traditional victorian (I think) pattern...it's a little bigger than I'd like, but it's still sooo comfy!

^it had to be worn with a tee shirt to prevent indecent exposure Tongue

^my favourite picture 'cos it makes me look a lot thinner than I am Cheesy

^I didn't have a cord long enough and the eyelets were uneven. oh well, learn from mistakes

^with my favourite skirt...makes me happy Smiley

^I got stuck...

Thanks for looking, hope I inspired you Smiley

2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / HELP! corset fabric choice on: March 25, 2010 04:04:10 AM
I've made quite a few "corsets" that are barely boned and of flimsy, fragile fabric and I am DESPERATE to make a super tough, fully boned, waist cinching, shaping, awesome, proper corset!

One problem: I have no idea of what fabric and interfacing to choose that will be durable enough...colour and design are unimportant, as long as the corset can serve it's function.

Any other tips are greatly appreciated!  Smiley
3  CLOTHING / Costumes: Completed Projects / Nightmare Before Christmas-Sally Dress on: February 19, 2010 05:19:50 PM
I've had a crafster account for some time now and I've been just itching to post something, so here it is...my first post ever Cheesy
I had a christmas themed party last November, but I didn't want to go in the cliched santa hat and skimpy red dress, so I decided to make my own costume.

I had a whole heap of really ugly one tone tee shirts which matched some of the colours on Sally's dress, so I drafted the pattern from a similarly shaped dress, and about 5 hours later, I had a totally awesome costume!

...now I just need to figure out how to post pictures....
ok, I have no idea so here's a link instead Smiley
