21  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: "My Country doesn't Have That" PART II? on: August 24, 2005 11:49:24 AM
Swiss girl here... I participated in the first round and so far it was lots of fun. so if anyone wants anything from Switzerland, e.g. all sorts of chocolate, ricola and sportmint candy or paprica chips, I'd love to be part again.

I'd love to participate if you let join a Swiss girl, I know we don't have the Euro but still, Switzerland is in the middle of Europe ;-) I like the 4th idea, but all the others are great, too.
23  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Stash Swap (Sign up 8/10/05 - 8/24/05 Send by 9/21/05) on: August 23, 2005 01:57:58 AM
I'd so love to sign up for this swap and I'm just hoping that the package to my second partner from my first swap finds its way to its recipient before the signup deadline is over. I'd hate to miss this as my stash is so huge that this would be a very good opportunity to work at downsizing it just a little bit. So, I might signup at the last minute

If it's open for non-US craftsters I'd love to participate too... I could knit or crochet hats, purses, scarfs and sew purses!
25  KNITTING / Knitalongs / Re: Agate and Lace Scarf Knitalong on: August 21, 2005 11:15:58 PM
Sewer Rat, I used Colinette Hand dyed D.K. in Colourway Aubergine. I tried to find a link to it on the internet, but wasn't very successful. www.colinette.com makes several different 100% wool yarns, none of which seems to be called DK - and that's all it says on the label. But they have lots of other beautiful yarns. The lonely skein I had sitting around made for a perfect skinny scarf that is about 63 inches long.

here's my take on this beautiful scarf, as of yet without beads as I couldn't find pretty enough ones in my stash that match.

I just received the most amazing package from punkrockmom. It has 3 magazines, one about knitting, one about beadwork and the third one about papercrafts. So far I've only looked at the covers because I wanted to post first, but as soon as I have bragged enough I will make myself comfortable and enjoy those fantastic looking magazines. Furthermore there is a huge batch of hawaiian fabric, cool and wonderfully colourful beads as well as cute little lockets and matching keys to be used as pendants. Some of punkrockmom's favourite recipes for desserts are included too (I'll be sure to try them soon) and to top it all off there is a deliciously soft skein of alpaca wool.

Thank you so much Catherine for taking so much effort and making this a wonderful first swap... I love it all

edited to add picture... that's how excited I am ;-)) and my cat "Mojito" has already found the treasures and is sniffing deliriously at the wool. uhm yes, sorry for the flashy picture, it's kind of late here in Switzerland, well most certainly there is no more daylight.

I've just started this scarf in 100% wool from Colinette yarns in the colourway aubergine. I'm not that far yet, only about 10 centimetres done, but am already thinking about going through my stash of beads to look for matching treasures...

I'd love to be part of a round two too, but am still in the middle of the first swap. I've sent a week ago, but as the two packages are going overseas it is still going to take one week more til my swap partner receive their gifties... I hope round two is going to start a bit later than that so I can participate too.
