1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Making a dress with boning.... =/ on: May 12, 2007 05:54:10 PM
I'm making a dress (New Look 6377) for prom (view C, in case you want to know), but I need featherweight boning for the dress. However, I live in Taiwan and I have absolutely no idea what it's called in Chinese.

Could someone post a picture of a boning so I could go and show it to the storekeepers or if it's possible, tell me the name of it in Chinese?

Thank you sooo much =)
2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / shiny red prom dress w/ flower sash !! on: September 09, 2006 07:32:09 PM
haha, this post is a bit late, but here it goes!

my mom made my prom dress (i know, i should've done it myself! i will try this time)... well, i traced the pattern, cut the pattern, and cut out all the fabric. =)

okay, so the dress was new look 6557, made with shiny red satin fabric that i picked. (i was going for red or green, but the green i found didn't look very good) the sash idea was from the march (or may?) cutting edge magazine.

this is the fabric we used. tulle (which we didn't use in the end), satin, my sash, and lining

the front of my dress

the side. you kinda see how the sash works. =)

a jordy bag my mom made at the last minute to hold my cell phone and camera!

3  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / Connecting to clasp... on: February 24, 2006 04:51:30 AM
I made a 12 strand necklace out of fishing line, however, i'm not sure how to connect it to the clasp.

i was advised to attach it to a bead tip: (http://www.firemountaingems.com/details.asp?PN=H152164FN) & then connect it to a clasp, but i have no idea how to do it...
